NFL Issues Maximum Fines to Patriots and Coach Belichick for Spying on Opponents

NEW YORK -
New England coach Bill Belichick was fined the NFL maximum of $500,000 Thursday and the Patriots were ordered to pay $250,000 for videotaping an opponent's offensive and defensive signals.
Commissioner Roger Goodell also ordered the team to give up next year's first-round draft choice if it reaches the playoffs and second- and third-round picks if it doesn't.
"This episode represents a calculated and deliberate attempt to avoid longstanding rules designed to encourage fair play and promote honest competition on the playing field," Goodell said in a letter to the Patriots.

It was wrong, it was stupid, and it didn't make one bit of difference in the outcome of a single game.
NE was just that much better, but the coach tried to cover his bets, just like Nixon and Watergate.
Nixon would have won regardless, and it destroyed his administration.
NE is in the same boat.

BINGO! It is funny how they got caught against the Jets. Oh yeah...Belicheck's former offensive coordinator is the Jets head coach! How many times do you think he watched video just like what Belicheck got caught with?0 -
Maybe he had the same hero as me when he was a kid... "Handsome Johnny Barrend" who did an exhibition match at my Jr, High one night when I was a kid...
After bashing his opponent with a chair (the great Bobo Brazil) he jumps out of ring, grabs the mike and comes over to where all of us boys are at.... Here was his speech... Ah, school! You know kids I always wanted to be a teacher. But life took me down another path... But I feel that these clowns aren't really preparing you for real world (pointing at the teachers)..So let me teach you life's most inportant lesson... "Win if you can...Lose if you must...but always, always cheat!"
