Collecting by S/N's

How many people collect firearms based on unique serial numbers? I'm not talking about low numbers and such, but just certain combination of numbers. For example, a friend of mine collects based on his birthdate. He doesn't collect junk, just guns that are unique to his birthdate and still good collector pieces. Just caught me as a little different.[:)]

  One guys collection might not make sense to someone else. It's often emotional and not logical. I pay little attention to serial numbers. To me its all about interest and condition.

  I would like to collect by my birth date but SN's normaly don't go that high ! [:D][:D][:D]

  Not alot but some, serial number are important because they tell the birthday of the gun. winchesters with birthdays before 1964 are special. So are pre 72 Sakos. If one knows his serial numbers, one gets the gun of his dreams, so say confucious. [:)]
