Be careful not to rationalize that you did well just having one. Next thing you know it will be two, three, ..... Good luck, I hope you can succeed in quitting.

    I will not deny that!

I wanted to go cold turkey and could not get through the day without one!

But I still do not have any smokes in the house, and I have had too much to drink to drive to the store to get any! So I will spend the rest of the night smoke free!

And I think tomarrow will be easier than today was!

I am not trying to rationalize! I am just stateing an opinion!

It's been almost an hour since you posted last...get off the porch with the neighbor and get in here and let us know how many more times you called him over!!![;)]

First 3 days are the toughest part of beating the physical addiction. The next 11 days are all combatting the psychological addiction. After that it's all down hill. Just watch for those patterns again. The last time I quit I made it 9 months. Then I went out with the fellas one night to shoot some stick and have some suds. I smoked about half a pack of OPCs that night and went right out in the morning and bought 2 packs for myself. I fell off the wagon and broke my knee...Been smoking again ever since.

If you are truly ready to quit then you can do it. If you're not fully committed then it will be a long road. Don't get down on yourself, it's a tough haul, but you can do it if your whole heart is into it![:)]

Don't make me go down there and twist your arm every time you feel like bumming a smoke from the neighbor.

Keep up the good work, Kevin. I know you can do it. If not for yourself, then for your kids. They'll be healthier too.

Don't have another one!...that is exactly what ruined each of my failed attempts to stop smoking.

Pure and simple....don't let your kids down. Perhaps that will give you strength. Stay strong![^][;)]

OK, cut off a finger and get your mind right. Or, get drunk and pass out.

Try to avoid the alcohol. I use to smoke like it was going out of style when I drank.
