ok i am fairly new seller on here and never ran into this problem before. im not a ffl,i sold a gun on gunbroker with a 3 day return policy.sent the guy all the pictures i had of the item,several emails describing it as best as i could.got the payment and ffl.shipped it out and he got it.he picked this gun apart.he wasnt happy at all with it.told him i would give him his money back.now he is where im having a problem......do i also take out the gunbroker fees?also since i am not a ffl,the ffl that i am using to get it back is going to charge me 20.00 to get it back,do i also charge this to him?im not in any way getting rich doing this,but im not going to lose money either.........any help would be appreciated.thank you.[8D]

If you didn't misrepresent your item in the auction it wouldn't be unreasonable for him to pay for a relisting fee since he decided he did not want the gun. I also would let him pay the postage on the return too. 0 -
I may be wrong, but I do not believe you need an FFL transfer to return the gun back to you. The buyers FFL should be able to send the gun directly back to you without a problem.
I'm sure one of our FFL guys can answer this better than me.0 -

He should pay the shipping fees. You guaranteed the sale with a 3 day inspection, thus you pay any fees to re-list (I thought someone said GB does not charge a listing fee?) You pay your FFL fees. 0 -
Do the right thing and sent a refund plus shipping both ways. You can ask Gb for a refund of the selling costs. You do not owe the ffl fees. If you do not want to do business in this manner list all items "AS IS" no return. 0 -
Why did you leave him feed back already? Let the buyer leave it first. Do serial no's match? what is his big complaint? looks like he paid top buck for it, if its just buyers remorse tell him to get bent and accept the neg. feedback, Id charge him auction fees + charge him to relist it. i left him feedback already, cuz i got payment and ffl in a timely manner cartod.yes all #'s match and all original. oh and yes all business will be "as is " from now on. 0 -
as you offered a three day inspection, title doen't not pass to the buyer until then. his ffl can ship directly to you as you still own the shotgun. he should pay postage both ways. 0 -
Next time take pictures, pictures, and more pictures. This cost is very small and lets the buyer see everything from every angle. Always get worse imperfections in your pictures so no surprizes. As a buyer it is always best to have gun in your hand and then find that is is much better than the seller stated. Keeps us very happy and then we buy more guns. Just my 2cents! 0 -

Nice piece.He wanted that gun,He started the bidding hit it in the middle and fought for it at the end.Buyers remorse with a hint of auction fever .Let him pay for all your costs.He prolly realized he paid top dollar and has been bangin'other auctions hopin you feel sorry for him.If as you say "he picked the gun apart" make sure he put all those original "parts" back in the gun[:0]ST 0 -

manoldgun,i had a dozen pictures,sent them all to him.his complaints were that it wasnt as nice as he thought it was going to be.i rated it at 95-98%, he didnt think it was that nice.i did.i told him it had light handling marks, light scratchs in the finish on the stock.im beginning to think he just changed his mind.oh and your right they dont charge a listing fee,they charge a final value fee on gunbroker. anyways thanx for the advice guys [8D] 0 -

Unless he can articulate a reason for the return based upon misrepresentation, fraud, damaged in shipping, etc. I wouldn't take it back. The 3 day inspection period generally doensn't apply to a simple case of buyers remorese. Most dealers charge shipping both ways and a reasonable restocking fee, why should you be any different? The restocking fee could cover your FFL fees 0 -
...The return shipping fees are on him, you should not owe any fees to GB since the sell fell thru.

It really sounds like you supplied everything you could then and he just plain changed his mind after receiving it. I say if he found no surprizes on it after receiving it then he should pay the return shipping. Don't refund until you get gun and make sure it is in same condition as when you shipped it. Any other fees he has to get it back to you right away should be on him. Also next time it is best for you the seller to only give feedback after getting feedback from the buyer. You really should have already received this back by now. 0 -
