Not being familiar with those sales, is 5.25 a good price?
    What is the average?

She will do even better next year. [;)][:D]

    pickenup,
not too familiar myself. But, I can say that the Grand Champion 4H pig went for a total of about $2,300. Whereas, my daughters pig was $1,460. So, I would say that her price was quite good for a first time. [:)][:)]

Sharon helped our landlord at an apt we used to rent, feed and water two cows.she talked the goo goo/gaa gaa to it for awhile,Till one day momo and jojo went away,Well,About 2 weeks later,Here comes the LL lady holding two packs of hamburger meat. She said heres momo and heres jojo.I started laughing till I saw my beautiful brides big doe eyes tear up.She went inside an had a moment.Thats why I asked. You see were city peeps,An I was wondering if country peeps did the same.

Phillip....Your sarcarsm is noted and understood, now that I know that you are from the city. FFA and 4H kids know the fate of the pigs, steers and other livestock they raise and don't get to the point of developing a bond of everlasting devotion with them. That is the difference with them and city kids. City kids see movies where the animals talk and act like humans and believe this is the way it is. I can only imagine this is the way you grew up and why you make light of my granddaughters accomplishments.
In the real world, country people raise animals and have them processed for meat, but don't name them or bond with them to the point that emotions become involved. Hope this helps.......

phillip.....OK, no harm done. No more to be said and don't like decaf. [;)][;)]

Shootlow...The folks that bought the pig kept it for breeding, so it won't be processed as most would be.....[:)][:)]

I've seen hog prices down to $25 per hundred in the early 80's which would make a fat hog that's around 240lbs worth less than $75. I'd say she did real good. Congrats!
