Don't you love a reason to clean your guns?
The pistol range was empty when I pulled in at 4:20 PM. After a box of .45ACP, I noticed ... it was still empty. It makes it easier to put the line cold and check the target after every couple of mags [my eyes are not that great].
After another box, I mosied up the hill to the skeet/trap arena, set on about 30 acres. Three good friends were going at it, and I learned a thing or three.
I'm still looking for a decent 1100 that won't break the bank.
Then I picked up my new eyeglasses at the optometrist. Can't wait to compare targets between today and the next outing.
The weather was absolutely perfect; warm, light breeze, plenty of light.

I have absolutely loved cleaning my gun for many years. I guess I started around 11, that'd make it 34 years. It still stirs me in ways nothing else does. How about you? 0 -

Rather shoot them then clean them personally. [:D]
I went to the range with my new AR and my Sig .45 on Monday. Only two other people there, had fun. I improved alot with my Sig also. My AR was pretty fun to break in also, but I just can't get into shooting rifles at the range like I used to when I was younger and just went up a gravel road in the mountains and pulled off.0 -

I hate cleaning them with a passion. I always do it at the range after shooting. I usually lose something in the process.
My first centerfire rifle was a pristine No. 1 Mk 3 Enfield. My dad was the guy who bought it for me when I was 11. He was also the architect who designed our HS with a rifle range in the basement. The instructor there advised us that shooting a few rounds lubricated the barrel. I took this advice home and reminded my dad what he told me after shooting a few rounds of corrosive ammo through my precious Enfield.
It still makes me sick to look down that bore. SN 1010, nice bore, once. Damn!0
