Good old Red Skelton - 1969, how did he know... good old Red.

Some of you may remember him but he passed away before many of you were born. Red Skelton was a good & funny man. He also ended every show by saying, "GOOD NIGHT AND GOD BLESS". Listen to the end of this. It is something he said 38 years ago.

    Actually this was likely recited and maybe recored before the Under God was inserted into the pledge in 1954.

    After Mister Skelton recites the pledge, he goes on to explain that since he was a small boy, two stars have been added to the flag and two words have been added to the pledge.

    I don't remember if he was a combat pilot in WWII, but he was an excellent civilian pilot.

    My Brother flew with him, 2 or 3 times and those were his words, He also flew with Bob Cummings.

    He was a very, very funny man who never ever used vulgar language to make folks laugh. One of my most favorite shows along with Milton Berle's Tuesday Night Follies. I hope I got that show name correct as I was very young when they were aired.
