(1000 rounds of .38 as I need to practice before my recertification test for work).
[:0] Do you really need that much practice, or is that just a convient excuse for more range time [:p]

Well I would say that is a good start for a first order [:D]. UPS use to complain that I got too many heavy boxes too often [:p]. With the current pricing I have made less big orders but still keep enough stock on hand to have a little fun [^]

    NWCID!!

You might want to look at Stack weight!! Those bottom cans might be getting crushed!

You might also want to talk to an Architect to make sure you aren't exceeding the max load per SQFT on the slab!! A good rain, and your slab might bust. If you load your cans like I do, your load looks to be over 500 pounds per SQFT!

And, that is gonna be a mess if there is a Quake!

NWCID, are you that survivalist guy from the movie "Tremors"? The one that Reba McEntire's character was married to?

I'm not knocking you, actually I'm jealous! Way to go! [:D]

Current stash is 300 rounds of 45 ball ammo (mostly CCI Brass), 360 rounds of 7.62x51 (200 Privi, rest is Port.), about 200 or so rounds of 7.62x39, 50 357, 50 38 +p, 100 44mag, 300 of 22wmr, and about 2000 rounds of 22lr. So I at least have *some* for everything I own...

Well when I hit the range I will take 200 to 300 rounds with me for the hour or so range time. It is 25 miles to the range so it is a pain to get to. 1000 rounds is only a couple of trips. And recertification class they want us to bring 200 rounds. Now if I go with friends, that 1000 rounds will go faster as we go have fun and blow off as many rounds as we can with as many guns as we can bring. [:D]

Hey NWCID, do you live in my neighborhood?? when the fighting breaks out, I'll come and reload for you just to be near that much ammo. I'm like the one who posted, "you guys would laugh if you knew how little ammo I have"..... guess I better start stocking up before Hillary gets in office and shuts down our ability to get ammo........

A couple of weeks ago, the wife and I were talking about preparedness and future politics, and she said "we need to get more ammo." Gosh, I love that gal!

Nephew came by the house a week ago, from a logging job on the mountain, and dropped off some chunks for firewood. Upon reflection, we agreed that a man never has enough groceries, cash, firewood, or ammo. I think that's good enough to be in Proverbs somewhere.

You know I never thought about that. In the 50's most are about 40# and the 30's about 30#. Right now only 4 of the 20mm cans are loaded but there is 900rds of 12ga in each and I bet they are close to 75# each.

Water might be an issue, but we very seldom get quakes and none are big.

I did have them spread out more, but I was trying to make more room and put the 20mm over there. I may have to change back.

He use to be my hero, now I think I am his [:p]. As for the how I got so much it happens over time. When ammo was a better price and then on sale it was easier to stock up. I when it was on sale I would order an extra case or two. For example I have 7.62x39 that I paid $70/1000 for shipped. I am gald I am not paying current price for it.

I try to keep on hand at least 200 rounds for each gun and 15 mags for each, when I go to the range I burn thru all of it and on the way home replace it.The wife gets pretty pissed!

I liked Cooper's story about an order for Gunsite showing up, something like 200,000 rounds of .308, and the trucker asking why anybody would need so much ammo.

Cooper: "Well, hunting season is about to start..."

After which the driver walked off mumbling to himself.

Can't we just give them the chocolate ammo and let their heart rates speed up enough to kill them? [}:)]
