Am I going Crazy?

Good morning all. I have been carrying a Glock 19 for years now, but recently I have fallen in love with the model 340 S&W. It is more compact, lighter, and 5 rounds of .357 is nothing to take lightly. Isn't the first rule of a gun fight that you have a gun on you? I think that I prefer now the S&W over my beloved G19. Have I "gone to the darkside" by liking a revolver over a semi-auto? Thanks for all of your input.

    Mind you I also like the looks of the Ruger SP101. Anyone have and experiences with this gun? Thanks again.

    Naw, real mend don't carry Glocks so you must be going sane. The SP-101 is solid enough but a little harsh to shoot, and for me at least, not very comfortable to hold. Smith would probably be the better choice.

    You are just experiencing what all Glock owners eventially experience and that is the realization that Glock is not all that.

    I have heard people who know absolutly zero about guns wanting a Glock for their first handgun just because of the hype Glock has had over the years.
    I ask these same people "why do you want a Glock"
    and the response is "Because, ar'nt ZGlocks the Pinnacle of firearms?" or somthing like that.

    The reality is that there are better choices than a Glock and you are just experiences the reality.

    I often carry one of them loaded in .38 SPCL +P+ after a 158 gr .357 bullet became dislodged from recoil while still in the cylinder.

    I am an absolute 1911 nut,I own way more than my wife thinks I should and plan to buy more,,,My full time carry gun,,a 5 shot .357,,,I know its not going to jam,its going to go bang everytime I pull the trigger and in a bind I dont have to hunt the safety

    No, you're not going crazy...you're just coming around to the right side! I carry a revolver all the time. Just like 'em better than an auto. The S&W 340 is a great gun, and like you said, 5 rounds of 357 is some pretty bad ju-ju for a bad guy! I have a Ruger SP101. You can't go wrong with that one either. Built like a little tank. My go-to gun though is an older S&W model 37 Airweight in 38 spl. I have no qualms about carrying a 38 special, even though most gun "guru's" will say you at least need to carry a 45. Bull snot! Carry what you can shoot and carry comfortably. Wife carries a Charter Arms Police Bulldog in 38 special. Has a bobbed hammer, so I don't worry about her snagging it on anything in her purse or pocket or however she is carrying it. Anyway...Go for it! Revolvers are REAL guns! [:D][:o)][:D]

    3" or 6" Judge?
    The compact 3" isn't even all that compact.
