Kennedy: No amnesty? Illegals become terrorists!

U.S. Sen. Edward Kennedy said Monday that failing to pass immigration reforms would push illegal immigrants into isolation and create breeding grounds for homegrown terrorists.

Kennedy pointed to several European countries where he said alienation and immigration problems has led to terrorist acts.
"Just look what happened in Great Britain, with the isolation of the communities," Kennedy said at a meeting of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce. "Look what has happened in France. Look what has happened in Germany. Look where the cells are in terms of al-Qaida. They're all in different communities, which failed to assimilate individuals."

    I wish people would quit calling it amnesty. It not amnesty. It's a path to legal residency.

    Awh, heck. This is bad legislation. Enforce the laws on the books!!!!

    i am not sure what you're trying to say? that there shouldn't be a path to a legal residency? or what's your point? there's already a path to a legal residency, it's call legal immigration: get in line and wait.

    Exactly. I hear all kinds of BS from both sides and wonder if people out of their ignorance have any clue what laws are on the books and
    what happens if immigration services find out that an immigrant overstayed a visa -- the door to the US is closed for 10 years. Period. No exceptions.

    The whole thing is pretty ridiculous, in all aspects. I finally heard an opinion I've voiced for a while -- a very unpopular opinion, but nonetheless, basically the idea is that all these people come from a culture of socialism and entitlement and given an opportunity to vote they'll vote in the most liberal socialistic if not communist garbage out there. If you don't believe me -- look at CA and NY. If it was up to me, I'd pass an immigration reform that would only allow naturalization through only service.

    I don't think the Brits, Germans, or French isolated their moslem citizens. They isolated themselves to protect themselves from the infidel westerners. They refuse to adapt to their host countries' cultures because that would make them bad in the eyes of their religion. The same thing is happening to the large influx of illegals here (at least in the midwest)but it is because they refuse to learn the language but I do believe, that if we can seal the borders and stop the illegal flow, that the in a generation the ones that are already here will assimilate just fine.
