I usually don't go around preaching the 2nd amendment, but someone today was questioning the right to carry a concealed weapon. Why would we ever need it? Mockery really.

We had a long civilized discussion about it and now he can see our side. Kind of have to pat myself on the back for that one.

    And if everyone would do this, we would accomplish MUCH more than the NRA or any other organization would.

    I don't preach, but rather make my position by asking the other person questions. "What makes you feel that way? What would YOUR alternative be? How would that help? Who would decide (who can carry and who can't)?"

    When they get to the inevetible, "I don't know, but something has to be done!" I got 'em. [}:)]

    Yes, that is one of the answers. I too am getting much more aggressive when hearing anti-gun folks spout their ideas.

    I met a new guy at the range this weekend. He brought his mother and his girlfriend out to shoot with him. They had a blast. Two more!

    Congrats. It is rare to change a person's mind on a subject like that.

    I had a conversation like that with a nurse at work today. Went well.

    I forgot to pat myself on the back, however. Just doing what was right.
