Reaction: Bloomberg waging war on gun dealers
I live in the deep south where we treasure our gun rights and it just irks me to no avail when I hear from my friends especially Jay Fisher with Gallery Dist in PA on how Mayor Bloomberg has been mounting his own personal war against gun dealers in the east and north east. ATF released a warning against him on Feb 9,for endangering and hampering the real law enforcement community by using his almost criminal antics. He recently went after the gun dealers in VA, so he is reaching out further. He formed a mayor's coalition nationwide and I found 2 mayors in Mississippi were on his coalition. We bombarded their city councils to disolve that association. Has this Bloomberg character self appointed himself King or what. I met with and discussed this problem with a senator and congressman here in my home state and asked their support in our gun rights. I don't know what all an individual or a group of individuals can do to fight someone like Bloomberg but all of your suggestions would be greatly appreciated. For me, and I'm a USMC viet nam vet, former local cop, and retired federal agent, it's a no brainer: Properly armed and experienced citizens is a GOOD thing. Police and soldiers are paid to do what every citizen has the right to do. The BACKUP of law enforcement is it's citizens. 5% of all crimes are solved by law enforcement; that means 95% of all crimes are solved by citizens. I don't about the rest of you but it scares me when a government wants to disarm it's citizens but when powerful rich individuals like Bloomberg try it, I get the creepy crawlers big time. Maybe all of us need to rally right now and jump on this Bloomberg thing and NIP IT IN THE BUD!

What Mayor Bloomberg is doing isn't "almost criminal antics". What Mayor Bloomberg is doing is clearly, out and out criminal activity. He will continue to do it and it will continue to work because he has the money and politicians on his side. I strongly suspect that Judge Jack Weinstein was in on the plan before the scam ever took place in the gun shop. If you know what the verdict is before you ever bring suit, it kind of gives you a leg up.
I stopped by Cole's Gun Shop in South Boston yesterday to give Mark Cole a copy of THE BULLET. He told me a lot of people are down on him for settling with Bloomberg, but his other choice was bankruptcy. I didn't ask Mark for permission to repeat anything he told me, but it cost him more than my truck just to get to see the video. The unedited video clearly shows everything Mark's salesman did was according to law and good common sense. That doesn't matter, because Bloomberg knows Mark can't afford to prove it in court. Nobody could prove it in court in front of Judge Weinstein.
What it comes down to is who has the most money and who is willing to spend it.0 -
Another fine example of "rich liberals" abusing their power and position. They are now all encouraged and emboldened by the recent win over the Republicans and take it as a mandate to remove guns from the hands of horrible gun owners and hunters.
Every business in the nation that relies on sales to hunters, collectors, target shooters and defensive shooters needs to run the drive to organize all of us into one cohesive unit to fight the likes of Bloomberg and McCarthy/Schumer.
Another example of lawyers trying to social engineer change through the judicial system and make an end run around the legislative process.
Only choice is to join the NRA or GOA and get them to take the legal fight through the courts.0 -
JamekRK is right, what Bloomberg is doing is OUTRIGHT ILLEGAL and he should be prosecuted. I heard the feds are actually looking into it. However, he is a VERY popular man and no way in hell will be be prosecuted with this current political climate. 0 -

You have missed several opportunities right here in this forum. Not to mention several national and local sources.

i give very little credit to stories being accurate on any forum - especially this one - consider some of the wackos posting here 0 -
Evidently you didn't even look. Two of the posts listed are word for word from The GAZETTE VIRGINIAN, a reputable Virginia newspaper and THE BULLET, the official journal of The Virginia Shooting Sports Association. If neither of those is good enough for you, it appears you are wasting your time here, because you can believe nothing from nobody. 0 -

why look at Virginia? it has pretty mountains and clear mountain streams...it also houses (along with Maryland) the District of Columbia...Washington D.C., the seat of government for this great nation. Congress, the White House, the Constitution, any of these ring a bell??? where are they? Virginia. pay attention to this area....all your rights and freedoms are spelled out in a special document there, and if they are so inclined to do (as many are now) the suppression of these rights and freedoms is being attempted as we sit here typing on this technical marvel called a computer.
New York, Boston, Los Angeles, other cities and states are just stage plays compared to this one particular area of Virginia.0 -

ulooknatme2, I usually don't ask anybody if they are grown yet, but in your case I'll make an exception. Are you grown yet?
If I have missed my guess and it turns out you are grown, that brings up my next question.
Are you my brother-in-law? [?]0 -
That would be my question also. Sounds like he knows everything, or doesn't care to know anything.[:(!]
Did that make any sense? quote:"WE DON'T NEED NO STINKING BADGES"0
