Bloomberg - Perot Effect?
CNN is claiming Bloomberg will have a Perot effect. I disagree. Perot was a businessman first and foremost and it was evident that he would have run the country like a business. Bloomberg is a politician first and foremost with a very specific political agenda (to rule the world) and appears to me to be very left-leaning. Perot garnered a lot of the republican vote (including mine) and hurt the republican candidate. I don't see as many pubs voting for Bloomberg (I sure wouldn't) and the dems won't vote for him either. He is a red herring.

I dunno.
You have a lot of people out there who vote and who are idiots. They will vote for a third-party candidate because they are a third-party candidate. You have people who will vote for someone because he has his own billions and therefore doesn't "need" the money he could get from office, and therefore would govern in the "best" interest of the people. You have people who vote for the best-looking candidate, you have people who vote based upon the 10-second soundbyte they hear, you have people who vote because a newspaper endorses them (because, you know, newspaper editors are unbiased and research stuff). You have people who will not vote for Hillary, but won't vote for a Republican and who will just adore Bloomberg. You have the Brady Bunch that will most assuredly endorse Bloomberg. And, lest we not forget that the media will most assuredly brand Bloomberg as a "maverick" and try to make a national hero out of him, just like they have attempted to do with that egotistical dude McCain.
I could go on and on here. I don't think Bloomberg stands a snowball's chance in hell, but I'll guarandamntee you that he'll get a significant amount of votes.0 -
I'm thinking while he won't win the election, he could very well cost somebody the election. 0 -
