Making chili for Superbowl Sunday, anyone else?
I'm making my annual Superbowl Sunday chili tomorrow (it's an all day process). This will be the forth time with venison, which seems more flavorful than my regular top sirloin, or skirt steak recipes. Always soak the pinto beans overnight (to get the farts out). So, who else is keeping with this annual tradition and what are your tricks for the "Perfect Chili"?[:D]

I have a pot of chili cooking right now for the Super Bowl also.
Mine consists of 3 lbs of vension burger, a big jar of hot salsa,
and three can of brooks hot chili beans and two cans of V8 juice.
Cook it up tonight and let it age till Sunday.
Can't wait for the game and the eats......GO BEARS...[:)]0 -
My tradition................I don't mkae it 'til the last minute.
30 minutes before kick-off I start and every year it comes out looking like pizza!0 -
I love chili, but can't seem to make it very good. I have given up on that and this is why I either order pizzas or make my own(extra cheese and meat with a little garlic salt).

Jan0322...what seems to be wrong with the chili you make?...you will also find that a cook doesnt usually like their own cooking...Now someone else make it?..and its to die for...*LOL0 -

Not sure, but it could be because my grandma makes some amazing chili and I think that I try to compare mine to hers.

I'm chili'd out, I've gone through 2 pots in the last two weeks. 0 -
I cheat. I use Bear Creek Country Kitchen "Darn Good Chili" mix. Throw in a little over a pound of browned beef, 7 cups of water, diced green chili peppers, some Emeril's Southwest Essence and some Garlic powder. Oila! I had 2 bowls tonight. I'm tossing in another can of diced green chilis, a jar of Pace hot cilantro salsa and a bunch of Velveeta to make some chili con queso dip for the tortilla chips tomorrow. The crock pot is going to be full of it. 0 -
Son is making Buffalo Hot Wings. It's tradition with him since his college days at LU. I have a family size pizza backed up along with some veggie and chip snacks and sodas. 0 -
Well, the house now smells like some serious chili. Been at it since noon and now I'm letting everything slow cook through the night. Beans have been soaking for hours and will be ready to go into the kettle first thing in the morning. Should be enough for a small army. I hope everyone enjoys the day and the game! Go Bears![:D] 0 -
Couldn't wait till tomorrow, so I tried a bowl...It should be great stuff by tomorrow...[:D] 0 -

Keep me posted on any anti gun BS proffered by the media during the game.
I have better things to do.0 -
Beans? ....IN chili???[:0][:0] Lookin for them 72 virgins or somethin?...must be a "yankee" thing!
....Real chili, has no beans...THAT is an unforgivable sin.
If chili can be prepped, cooked...and ready to eat in a day,
it ain't chili...If chili is made in a crock pot, it ain't chili...if you use some type chili kit/mix....it ain't chili...shame 'O shame!...[V]

Not that I give a hang about the 31st game of the century and the 7th one of this century but doesn't Chili con carne translate to beans with meat? 0 -
I made mine last night to take to the party today. That way, it'll have a day to soak in the flavors.
It's a pretty good batch[:p]0 -
No parties. No chili for supper this year. Spaghetti and meatballs at the wife's request.
I'm happy just staying at home and watching the game in the peace and quiet of my living room.0 -
