Do you use gloves when you handle your...
Guns. I have always seen them use gloves on TV to keep the sweat off the guns. anyone use them to handle there guns. Is it manly? I always wipe them off but end up toching them again putting them away. Where do you buy those kind of gloves?

Manly? Manly? I'll tell you what ain't manly. When you take out your MARLIN Model 39A Article II .22LR Rifle and there is a big ol rusty finger print on it. You sit down, put your head between your knees and cry like a girl.
The gloves you want are just the plain white cotton gloves they sell in Medical Supply Stores and Drug Stores for people who have some sort of skin problem. If you tell the clerk what you need them for they will know what you are talking about, or just tell them the ones for people with a skin problem. They are something like $3.00 a pair in the Medical Supply Store or $15.00 and up at the clothing store.0 -
use your old bvds = tighty whiteys [:D] 0 -
I get them at the local drug store for $1.99 a box (2 pair) they have all sizes (but don't go to CVS they charge more for larger sizes and only have medium in stock). I have dry skin and have to put vaseline and a topical ointment on my hands every day or they crack and bleed. The gloves help the lotion soak into the skin better (and they look really cool when stopping traffic in the street to jaywalk [of course my boss doesn't want to know about the jaywalking, but I smile and wave to the cops when I do it to remain friendly]) 0 -
Never have. I wipe with a lightly oiled rag EVERY time after I handle them. Put them back by holding the wood only and you have no problems. I have guns that I've had for around 40 years and no rusty fingerprints are to be found. 0 -
WEAR GLOVES WHILE FONDLING HANDLING GUNS??? THATS LIKE TAKING A SHOWER WITH YOUR CLOTHES ON[xx(] 0 -
I don't use gloves when handeling my own guns, but I sure as heck do when handling someone else's antique collectable that can be worth thousands of dollars. Guys get awful mad if you pick up a $25,000 Colt and leave fingerprints on it. But they sure do get happy when you ask if you can pick it up and look at it and have a pair of cotton gloves in your hand as you ask. 0 -
never even thought about it. 0 -
mine get all used regular, so the old oily rag ,gets plenty use after a days shoot...... keep em all real good looking [^]
but there again mine are all average tools, if i had a few nice marlins,or a pair of Purdeys...well that would be a diffrent story...[;)] i'd dance like jacko !!! gloves & all...[:D]0 -

I have an old towel that is lightly coated with bar and chaon oil, I always wipe the guns down thoroughly when I put them away!!! 0 -

The fat guy on the History Channel wears white gloves, but I think he died. 0 -
...uh, no. Never crossed my mind. If I am just fondling, rubbing hugging and telling them how much I care for and love them, I wipe them down with a piece of one of those silicone gun sleeves I cut up just for that purpose; and or an oil impregnated rag 'fore I put them back in the safe....drool can cause rust...[8D]

Died. The same fat guy that takes you thru the arsenals of mint M1's?0 -
Depends on the gun.
If I were to pick up say that NIB 25 WSM Winchester Model 70 Featherweight that West Fork Gun Sales has listed on GA for $82,500.00.
Then Yes I would put on the gloves.
Same goes for those plastic $3500.00 Blaser rifles. But the gloves would be only for the purpose of not wanting my finger prints linked to something that ridicules.0 -
Yes, I wear them at gun shows too. Both out of respect for other peoples property and I don't want to leave my finger prints on a gun that might turn up in the wrong place. 0
