    Nope. Don't need one. You get old enough, you understand that going fast isn't the most important thing. I have two kids in the back seat that are MUCH more important than breaking the law.

    Had one once many years ago. Me and an eighteen wheeler were running about 90+ on an interstate late at night on a clear night with a full moon. I saw what looked like a HP car going the other direction, but the radar detector did not go off. We both slowed down anyway, and only a mile further, I topped a hill and two marked cars were sitting on the shoulder. My radar detector went of 4 times. Once for each of us from each car? I realized real quick there are only certain situations that they would help. I got rid of it quick. It gave me a false sense of security.

    Now I am older and just go slower anyway!

    The wife and I both have one, we have a long streach of road the cops love to nail the tourist on so it comes in real handy!Saved my butt many times!

    Well I was going to get one but I've decided I'll get a radar jammer instead. [:D]

    None of them work 100% but I think the jammer is worth the extra money to have something much more efficient.

    Nope. Don't speed much anymore. Most interstate speed limits around here are 70 and don't need to go much faster than that.

    I have one but have not had it plugged in for about 5 years. I think it's in my trunk in fact.

    I have two detectors and one jammer. I rarely use the detectors anymore, the jammer did not work with a highway patrol radar unit!

    Thanks Jacob you just gave me an idea for a giveaway![:D]

    Retired. No need to speed. Occasionally I am on the road during the morning rush off the mountain where I live. Not many cars, but, mind you, I can still sense the "urgency" in the drivers. Don't miss it. Joe

    As for insurance - Yep, sure do. one of my cousins totaled 13 cars from the time she was 18 til now..

    insurance on the camaro for my oldest bro was TERRIBLE, he didnt get to drive it.. the tickets he got raised his insurance some.

    i just updated mine i had been using an old escort for the past 20 years. don't do a lot of speeding but sometimes the foot gets feeling crazy and i have to stretch it out every now and then.[:D]


    need to hear the rats come alive in a BBC 427[;)]

    Never have never will. I don't speed too often. I have better things to put my hard-earned money towards. Besides, I am usually not in a hurry to get where I am going anyways, I like driving.

    I use a Valentine One. http://www.valentine1.com/ The best radar detector on the market. It has paid for itself more than once. I have not gotten a ticket since I started using it two years ago.

    I have used other radar detectors and none of them compare to the V1. I will pickup a cop using "instant on" two to three miles away! It also tells me what direction the radar is coming from.

    I have a veterans license plate and a USMC sticker on the back of my car. Haven't got pulled over with that combination yet.

    Trying to get your friend busted?


    I have a detector for the beemer, but do not use it much on the truck. I can drive 75 on the freeways here, so that is about 78-79 with no porblems. That is about fast enough.

    it is not the high speed that get you, it when your not paying attention and your doing 45 in a 35, this is were it comes in handy[;)]
