Verizon DSL customer service is crap
I have Verizon for my high speed internet and have like the service ever since I got it 6-8 months ago and have told others that they should get it also.
Well a while back I had to get a new credit card number because someone decided that they wanted my number. I have something's bill to it each month and thought I had all of them changed to the new number. Well I missed the Verizon. They sent me an email saying I had a bad card number. I got the new card numbers in the auto-bill system and thought everything was good. Well I should have also used the one-time pay option also I found out after they shut me off. I have talked to over 10 people to get it all up and running again. Two days ago I thought it was good they where to turn it back on and just to be safe I played the outstanding balance even though I was told I could wait till the next bill was due, 10 days.
This morning I was able to get on the net but could not use my email. To get this fixed took one (1) hour on the phone talking to 4 different people and then a wait of about one more hour till it was fixed. The first said it was not a billing problem it was a tech problem. The first tech guy said it was not a tech problem it was a billing problem, I asked him multiple times to say on the line with me when he transferred to BACK to billing. The little foreign Sh#t didn't, also he was very hard to understand. The billing lady found a problem and told the second tech guy what it was and then he went about trying to fix it. He had to send it on to the home office to fix what ever was wrong. The last two where good and I could understand them.
I may start looking for a new IP now.
Well, that is my rant about them for now, thanks for letting me vent. [^][^][^]

Thanks for the info. I am also having problems with my ISP Wildblue and am looking for a new one. Verizon WAS a consideration. 0 -
We have verizon dsl and we have had absolutely no problems with it...and their customer service has been excellent when needed....Our bill comes on our regular phone bill, as verizon is our carrier for home phone and cell phone....One bill for all... 0 -
chollagardens,
Like I said the service is great the customer is crap.
I will more than likely keep them. It a pain to switch email address of everything and let everyone know I've got a new one. If I have any more problems I dump them.0 -
Can'tm you keep your existing email address when you switch ISPs??
I did, a couple of years ago.

This has been posted before, but for those who missed it....it's highly relevant and amusing. There's about 45 minutes of audio on the site and it's actually worth listening to.
And if you don't want to put 45 minutes into it, you can get the gist with a couple minutes of reading.

I ditched Comcast for Verizon, had them for 1/2 day and went back to Comcast. Customer service, quality, etc all sucked with Verizon. The installation tech that came out didn't even know how to install it correctly...I thought that would have been a prerequisite. I love Comcast but the new FIOS from Verizon was supposed to be that much better. Should have known not to mess with a good thing. 0
