Take the blue lead on the fan and attach it the red wire in the ceiling box. This should be for the light. Take the the black lead on the fan and attach it to the black wire in the ceiling box. This should be for the fan. Combine the two white wires together. Attach all the green wires together, and you should be ready to go. Hope this helps.

Hate to admit it, but I have done the same thing.[V] Also, take a look at the selector switch for it to run in forward or reverse. It might be in the middle.

I have installed dozens of 'em.
Very unusual for them to ship a new one with a defunct motor.

All the advise so far has been right on the money.

was the motor...got a new one and it works great. If it was not the motor it might have been the wire harness that connected to the lights. Either way, the first one was bad.

P.S. I had checked the selector switch before I took it down.

Well, fan not so good now!!! I had not put bulbs in the fan yet, had to go buy some. Get them home, nothing. Fan part works great, lights will not come on. Try different bulbs, still nothing. Check bulb sockets, they're hot no matter how many times I pull the chain. No clue what is wrong now...any suggestion?
