WORST ShotGun You...
...ever owned, "worst" for any reason.
I realize their are lemons in any brand, but fairly rare, usaully the entire line of a brand is poop.
My worst was a NIB Franchi, forget the model. Nice semi 12g. light weight, great furniture, engraved reciever...looked like all you had to do was take it afield with you, open the case and the birds would just fall from the sky.
... WRONG! Never a malfunction, but could not hit ANYTHING with that gun! [:0] Always carry at least 2 shotguns when hunting (dove, quail) and went to shotgun #2, on several occaissions because of that Franchi.
Met a guy that had bought the same model, he had the same problem...no hittie anything, always went to one of his bk/up shotguns too...and did fine...just as I did...sold that chump!...[;)]

Winchester singel shot with a real small hammer, went off a lot trying to pull the hammer back and like ALL

I always thought I wanted a Winchester 1897. Finally got a good buy on one and discovered that the bolt really hurts when it hits your thumb. I never used it after test firing it.
I had a Savage Camper's Companion 22/20 that I just could not hit squat with the shotgun barrel.0 -
The only shoties I've used are my Winchester 1200 Riot 12 ga and my NEF Pardner 12 ga. Both have performed flawlessly. I'm surprised how good the 1200 was doing considering a month ago was the first time I detail striped it for a good cleaning and I've owned it for 10 years. I don't think there's anything that can keep an NEF from firing.
Oh, I have fired my brother's Nova with 3 1/2 magnum loads. Two shots were enough for me.0 -
i borrowed someones cheapo o&u that was imported from some cheapo country. cant remember the name, but youd know it by the fact that it didnt have a stop lug when you opened it to load. it just kept pivoting forward and if your palm was underneath the receiver, the bbl and receiver would pinch you REAL BAD and draw blood after shaving your skin off as it revolved forward. seemed like all it was was a bolt and nut holding the bbls on! i want say from russia but im not sure. does 'american arms' importer sound right? it was a little 410 o&u.

then there was a CZ semi auto 20ga. it kicked the DAYLIGHTS out of me and left a bruised cheek evey time.

then there was the stevens 311 sbs 16ga that the forearm would come off in your hand as you shot it....every time you shot it!![:o)]
and the 4th worst gun ever owned was the famous black and blue king of bruises shotgun.....the browning double auto 12vette.[xx(]0 -
Worst one I have is a Model 21 w/2 barrel sets, 16 ga. It has so much investment potential that I'm very uncomfortable in using it- so it might as well be a block of gold just setting in a safe. Now the old Model 12 16 ga with bobbed barrel and Poly choke, good blueing but very little finish on the stock (made in 1949), now there's a gun I'm comfortable taking to the field! 0 -

I'm suprised so many folks are complaining about shotgun recoil. Shotguns kick lightly in my opinion. 0 -
Ithica 37's tend to shoot high, real high.
The worst I've owned was a Weatherby Orian. POS started firing both barrels with one trigger pull (this was a common "feature" of the Orian, as the sears were made to soft) within 3 months of comming out of the box. What made it real bad was the attitude of the warranty dept at Weatherby that basically said "you bought the POS, it's your problem".
I traded it in (with the original box) on a Browning Citori GTI and have never looked back (the GTI has gone through a couple tons of ammo and has never burped)0 -
Iver Johnson double barrel - pull one trigger, fired both barrels. I didn't want to work on it, so I sold it.
Remington 1100, 12 ga. 3 in. magnum. Just didn't like it. No problem with other 1100's, and really like my 870's.
Not really a "worst", it just kicks like a JA (donkey).
Stevens 94C, 12 ga. 3 in. magnum. My first gun. Older brother gave it to me when I was 9-10 yoa. Only brought 3 in. #1 buckshot with it, just so he and my granpa could see me get the s##t kicked out of me. Took my first deer with it, and several more, lots of dove, squirrels, etc. Still have it and it ain't for sale.
My father's old Rem. Mod. 11. Sear wore down and it would go FA. That was fun. Or, when you let the bolt down it would fire.
I have since rebuilt it.
Stevens 311 double 20. ga. 3 in. magnum. Took it squirrel hunting with a buddy. Didn't pattern it first. Dang thing was shooting about 2 feet high at 25 yards!!! Good excuse. Cut the barrels to 18 1/4 inches, filled the opening between the barrels/rib with JB Weld, recoil pad, new large front bead, QD sling swivels, leather sling. It looked good. Used it for a truck gun for many years. The right barrel would shoot a slug about 30 inches to the left at 50 yards, the left barrel was dead on. Sold it, got it back, sold it again, can't get it back. I still miss that gun!!!0 -
Rem 1100. Mine was so bad, my dad used to call it my "jam-a-matic". And dont give me the crap about it being clean either. 3 gunsmiths couldnt make that thing work. Never bought another Rem. shotgun. Never bought another auto shotgun. 0 -

The 1100 12 ga. is a rock as is the M-37 20ga Featherlight.0 -

Fabarms FP6 - thing kicked like a mule, more so than you'd expect out of a 12-gauge.
I think they put a recoil-enhancer on or something like that. Didn't care for it.0 -
I have a large collection of very old shotguns, Doubles and odd singles, that have be called hi+grade wall hangers that are worth too much to risk hanging on the wall... totally pointless guns... all of them and they make up a every large % of my collection 50% at least.... I bought a Charles Daly Maxi-Mag a while back. BIGGEST piece of $ h i t of a gun I ever owned! Sent it back to the factoty 2 times to have it "fixed", each time I got it back it worked for about a dozen shots, then became a single shot. It just wouldn't cycle shells and that was using heavy 3 1/2" goose loads. Finnally traded it in on a Benelli SBE. That is after begging and pleading with my dealer to trade it. He didn't even want it! Think he gave me $75.00 for it.

I've only fired a Winchester 1200 12 ga (mentioned above), a Winchester 1300 12 ga (used to be mine), a Reminton 870 12 ga (Dad's) and my Benelli Nova 12 ga. Out of all of them, I'd say my Benelli's the nicest of them. It's the easiest to field strip and clean, and it just feels right. I've never fired a "bad" shotgun.0 -
I've only got one shotgun. A Wally-World special Winchester 1300.
I've shot trap and doves with it and it's a real gem to shoot.
I'm not much of a trap shooter, so I'll be just fine with my one, measly shotgun. Besides, this way, I don't have to ever take a chance on owning a lemon.0
