Another mystery tool
...It's marked "Williams 604 special". The long part of the handle is 12", and the wrench fits a 1" bolt. Any thoughts on what this was made for?

definitely a tool to get into a tight place! do you have any machinery that has a nut way down deep behind something? like a pulley or wheel or where a wrench must get around an axle? 0 -
...I *think* this one came from the grain elevator. We had a lumber yard, coal hikers and tons of obsolete machinery. 0 -
you can use it to keep kids in line. you can tell em this was the wrench your dad hit you with when you didnt behave. then, take out a straight one and hang it on the wall. tell em its for future use.[8D][:p]

Grain Elevator? THe only possible thing I can think of that could use a specialty wrench like that would be an antique boxcar dumper, maybe an old oil burner grain dryer, or a cleaner like a Texas Shaker, Rotex, or Clipper. My guess is that it is made for a specific piece of equipment.
It is a beauty of a specialty wrench, with a name brand. Thanks for the pic.0 -
