SAFETY! What is there to debate?
Fireworks safety (Happy Independence Day everyone).
Don't drink and drive.
Wear your set belts.
Wear helmets.
Wear safety goggles and hearing protection.
Etc ... you know you've heard them all.
Some conform [^], some ignores [V].
One of my best friends (both husband and wife) refuse to wear their seat belts while driving but insist on their children and passengers to wear theirs. Another friend smokes but tells kids not to smoke.
The moral, call it a credibility issue, controversial, or whatever, they at least tries to instill safety (and its benefits) on their children - for whatever it is worth. Like the old adage, "don't do what I do, do what I say". Despite of our bias, personal opinion, or experience, we need to set it aside and do or at least give the proper advice. We as the adult are suppose to know it all [}:)]! Kids are very vulnerable, they do not know any better, and are waiting for our guidance ... good, bad, or different.
