It would probably be easier to list what NOT TO GET.

    Homelite
    Poulan
    Weedeater

BTW I have Jorensen and Stihl chainsaws, both outstanding.
A Echo blower, weedwacker, and hedge trimmer, all gas powered.
They all crank and run well after a year of lying idle without maintence (so far).

HAH! I have a Stihl chainsaw I will give you if you will come get it. You would have a tough time talking me out of my Echo chain saw or weed trimmer.

If im ever down that way id be glad to. :)

HOWEVER, I do agree that weed eater, is not the same as an echo weed trimmer.

im not saying echo is ENTIRELY bad, dont get me wrong, but id take a stihl if avaliable any day

    K it wasnt a Homelite.

    Husqavarna.

I've got a couple of echo's that I use in my lawn business and they work well. However and prolly as important, make sure what ever you do make sure you get a straight shaft model. STAY AWAY FROM THE CURVED SHAFTS!!. Anymore, they're all pretty good unless you get a totally off the wall brand. Redmax, Shindaiwa, Muriyama are prolly the cadillacs but they're more bucks.

I did a lot of research prior to making purchase earlier this year. Narrowed down to the same two. Went with the echo due to the far better warranty. 5 yr on everything and FOREVER on the cable drive and electronics. Straoght 2 yr on stihl.

I have the echo weedtrimmer myself. Love it. Easy to start, easy maintenance, enought power for what I need, all in all, a great piece of equipment. Also, easy to get parts for, in case you need them.

I'd probably be glad to pay the postage.[:D]

I have a couple of Stihl saws, and have gotten good service from them.

I agree about checking the lawn service guys to see what they are using for themselves. I did check around here, and the majority were using the Echo units. That's a pretty good recommendation, so that's what I bought for the trimmer.

Have had my Echo for 3 years now and it starts with no problem after every winter.
