No, it's because it's not specific. EVERYTHING you mention can be found on the auction site. If you want opinions on what to buy it should go here or the expert side.
"I'm looking for an original sight hood for an early model Browning BAR", should go in the wanted section.

Basically the want adds are for items that can't be found on the auction side of GB and since your indecisivness and unclear want of nothing speciffically in particular other then a firearm of many different types, calibers, and configurations, is why I believe it was locked.
But then thats just my opinion.
Maybe you could try shopping in the auction side for something to want?0 -

Thanks guys. I thought the wanted to buy was just for people who wanted to buy stuff. Bad day at the range today, my post gets locked, the IRS is taking forever to give me my refund and their "wheres my refund" search doesnt work. I'm done. -dave 0 -
