Isn't that what it really is/was? 6 young men cowardly attacked 1 young man from behind and knocked him out. While one of the attackers stood on the prostate victim's head, the 5 other attackers kicked him in the head.
If anything, this one fact is not in dispute. So while all those protesters, along with Jackson and Shapton, "protest" the treatment of the 6 cowardly attackers, why don't they at least have the decency to "protest" to their 6 "brothers" about what they did was cowardly, uncivilized, evil and primitive behavior?

The thing I hear is, since he was released from the hospital and attended a school function that night, it couldn't have been "attemped murder".
Wrong, if the intent by the attackers was to kill him, and they attacked him with that intent, it is "attempted murder", just the attempt failed. That doesn't mean they didn't "attempt" to do it.

I've been reading all these Jenna 6 posts and must say I think you guys are too focused on the racial implications of this incident.
That was not attempted murder. I was a school yard fight for crying out loud. I was in a few in high school. I was out numbered by both Blacks and Cubans. I got my butt kicked a few times and kicked butt other times. It was not attempted murder.
The DA went overboard filing those charges...including filing as an adult. Boys will be boys...they'll always be "school yard fights".0 -

They blindsided the fellow at school while he was walking a few feet behind his girlfriend. The group that attacked him was going in the opposite direction, and once he had uncovered them, they turned and attacked him from behind. He did not know what or who hit him.
The noose issue had nothing to do with this attack at all according to a U.S. District Attorney who investigated this end of the matter.
The victim's initial hospital bill was in excess of $5,000.00, and the reason he could not be kept away from the school function that evening was because it was the event where students were going to receive their class rings.0 -

6 on 1 should always be considered attempted murder. hundreds of people die every year in america from as little as 2 punches. this is a FACT. 6 people kicking, stompin and punching a person is WANTON DISREGARD for human life and should be treated as such. however, the more i read about the black thugs in this case i realize that if they arent convicted in this case then in the near future they will be arrested for some other crime and sent away for it. these blacks are thugs and cowards.
on a side note - why doesnt anyone in the media state the FACT that it is NOT illegal to hang a noose on a tree ?0 -

The whole story disgusts me. From the noose to the beating to the charges. This whole thing is rediculous and blown up.
Hands down the most stinky part is the bullcrap marching. I hope a building falls on them and their supposed "leaders". The kid got beat up, he ws still able to go to a dance later on that night. They couldn't have beat him that bad. Attempted murder is outrageous to try to charge him with, from what I can understand he was calling them every racist slur he could come up with, he deserved what he got. These guys are little kids who made a mistake, they ganged up up some jerk and beat him pretty good, but if was still able to muster up the strength to attend a school dance that night I don't think that they tried to kill him or that he almost died. By some of your reasoning we should sentence every person who has gotten into a fight to attempted murder, because they could have killed someone. It's ridiculous, the kids fine, all 6 + 1 should be punished for being stupid a-holes and that is it. 0 -

When I was in HS, the blacks would only fight you when you were alone and there was a few of them. The Cubans kids were different. They would fight one on one.
BTW, there were no guns/knives/bats. It was bare knuckle fighting.

The kid did not get beat up. The kid was buswhacked, from behind and then beaten unconscious. A cowardly act in even an idiot's book. They could not have beaten him that bad? What do you think of the CNN Special last night that aired this at the close of their broadcast - which might ensure to cause CNN to drop the Jena-6 Slogan like a hot potato and move on to something cleaner: CNN Special - Judgment in Jena - from the black DA in Jena: He notes that he doubts that anyone knows what it feels like to have one (black) kid stand on the unconscious victim's head while the remaining (five) kick him in the head. Also, the victim underwent doctor bills totaling many thousands of dollars. Aditionally, Michael Bell, one of the blacks involved in this (hate) crime had four assault charges to his credit before earning this, his fith assault charge. The victim brought a shotgun to school months later (no reason given) and has been expelled ever since.
Also, these guys are not "little kids" by a long shot. Michael Bell is a football star. How many small "little kids" do you know that are HS football stars? The victim was not a small man either, which might be another reason for developing a coward and criminal mentality for not having the guts for a good old fashioned one on one. Young men their age are dying in Iraq today.0 -

So if I shoot you in the head with a .25ACP and it bounces off (as many .25acpACP's do) where you only need a stitch or two at the hospital, it's not attempted murder becasue you went home that night?

I'm not saying that those 6 guys are anything but dirt bags and if he's working on his fifth assault charge there should be some jail time involved. I'm just saying that it sounds like being charged with attempted murder is a trumped up charge when the victom is fine by the end of the day. I admit that I don't know all the details of this case, and there may have been proof beyond a dobt that he deserved the charge, but I doubt it. I think that race did play a role and that the protestors are justified in this case. I believe that the case was overturned anways and now the judge refuses to let him out or let him post bail until the appeals process it over. 0 -

I can agree that there is racism involved on both sides. I can see were protesters like the Civil Rights Movement would show up, they are scum in my book, otherwise, they could not achieve and sustain their cradle to grave benefits aim without their brand of politically correct inequality against the white establishment.0 -
