Lebanon Pounding Al-Qeada
Right now live on tv they are showing Lebanon pounding the tar out of Al-Qeada forces inside their country. Apparently US military planes are also on the way, I am guessing they will be AC-130 gun ships.

It's been going on for a few days now. I'm surprised no one's noticed it until now.[:p] 0 -

We will not put U.S. war planes into the fight over Lebanon. There are plane loads of ammo on the way.0 -

Well, goes to show what swallowing the party line will get ya.
The Lebanese government is made up of both Islamic and Christian, fundamentalist and secular factions.
The current governement is anti-Hezbollah but also favors Israel pulling out of some occupied territories, and we all know that equals Islamofascist.
There are also some Hezbollah reps in their government, some pro-Syria factions.
It is, however, a bit of a stretch to say that they are all pro-Hezbollah.0 -

Yes and no. Decades ago the Lebanese government had agreed not to suppress radicalism inside the "camps" that are in Lebanon and they allow Hezbollah to operate at will. These are not really "camps" they are full blown cities. Radicalism is also tolerated in many other Islamic countries, until it threatens the countries governments or infrastructure, then it is suppressed back down to manageable levels. That is what has happened now in Lebanon, the government got scared of AQ and decided they needed killed before they got too strong.0 -
Send Jimmy Carter over there to fix it all. 0
