Made chili, sat down to eat & BOOM
Don't know what it was, it blowed so hard a light bulb fell from a light above the table, I went out slid & fell around the house on the ice but could find nothing.
Called the sherrif office, they said they would have somebody drive by & see if maybe someone wrecked up the gravel road.
That was an hour ago / no one has drove by yet.
If I can I'm gonna take a little walk up the road cause the dually sure won't go on this ice.

is there a 3 phase line anywere near??? if so it could have been one of the other phases that blew. I work for a ele. co-op and have heard them and they will shake the house if they are close.

You have described a sonic boom, experienced lots of them caused by fighters from the McDonnel Douglas plant before the ban on sonic booms.
That's my guess. Only other thing would be the detonation of explosives in your immediate vicinity.0 -

Kansas City's TV stations were talking this morning about how many people have had mysterious booms in their houses. It's the cold weather stressing things, lumber, concrete, dry wall. My house is a berm and last night I had several "LOUD" enough you could feel them booms.
The reporters were saying that people were even going out and walking around their houses to see what had hit them. I have had this before, but not as severe as these seemed. It may be because of the extreme temperature swing from the warm weather we were having to the severe cold, so fast.
Who knows? What I'm thinking may just be BS.[:D]0 -

You are correct Bloviator. They do make red chili in Mexico, but the green chili comes from the Pueblo Indians.
