rcrxs old lady got me to thinking (hope you don't mind[:I]), Should executions be made public for all to see? Might curb the next person that wishes to knock someone off for kicks like gang bangers etc.

Reading about execution is one thing, viewing it is another.
What say you?

  You guys are ruthless. While I support the death penality, I have no desire to watch anyone be put to death, even convicted murderers. There is enough death and killing shoved into our faces daily.

  I agree with what several have put forth - definitely for death penalty, not so sure about public viewing. Public viewing may lessen the impact over time, and death for criminal punishment doesn't need to be something we take lightly.

  We are supposed to be an open society. Reward and punishment needs the light of day in full view of those making the judgements. Our society must face its own dirt to be able to grow beyond it.
