Illegals View on New Plan....
what would i gain by following this plan ? as it stands right now, there is nothing illegal about being in america illegally. does this plan change that ? if i am an illegal alien, why would i leave america, play a fine and risk not being allowed back in ?

It isn't and it doesn't.
What it does do is get the politicians to be able to say they've done something "important" about illegal immigration.

It is like all modern laws. It is written so that some vindictive unnamed unaccountable bureaucrat can set enforcement policy on. They enforce the parts of the law that nets them the most power over the subjects and serfs we American citizens have become.
RICO laws come to mind as an example.0
