Wow.Atlanta really sucked goat butt. They definately batted 100 in the rudeness catagory. EVERY SINGLE person was rude. THAT'S tough to do! The last night I was there I decided to try out a restaurant called "Polaris", which was a revolving restaurant mounted to the top of my hotel. It looked like a blue Space Needle. One would think that a fella could get a glass of water in a $50 a plate joint, but you'd be wrong. If I wasn't so hungry, I'd have left. But I knew that wherever else I went, they'd be just as slow. I guess I'm spoiled by people doing it right in my home town. Anyways, no tango attacks, but I do have some interesting news. As I was arriving at the Atlanta airport to go home, I was prepared for 5 hour waits and security coming out the kazoo since Atlanta is a major international hub. Right?Wrong. I checked my luggage and walked up to the metal detector. The security guy who was supposedly in charge was too pre-occupied with flirting with the girl who was running the carry on x-ray machine to be bothered with national safety. He was not even looking at the people walking in. He had his back to the machine the whole time. Finally, it was my turn to pass through. I walked through and "BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP"! I immediately stopped and waited for him to whip out his magic wand. Notta. He hadn't even noticed the thing going off. So I walk backwards a few steps and set it off again. "BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP"!Notta. He's still flirting with the girl running the carry on machine, so I just went on my merry way. About twenty minutes later, I saw the same security guy walking through the terminal with a few National Guardsman. Guess they were loking for me. Good thing I wasn't a tango, huh?To top my trip off, I sat in the gate waiting for my America West flight, only to have it cancelled due to white powder being found on the plane. I ended up getting a connection through Delta, but they kept my luggage in the America West plane as a precaution. I have to go down to my local airport and pick it up sometime this afternoon. Now I get a week of refreshing my brain before I skip off to LA for a while. A piece of advice for those of you looking to fly soon. DO NOT fly America West. The service is terrible and the planes are falling apart. Fly Delta, or better yet, fly Southwest Airlines if they're in your area. SW is the way to go. I feel better now that I got that off my chest.
