10 hour shift last night
Still up, putting some coffee on, gonna make some flap jacks. Going to thoroughly enjoy my day off.

No, were going to be open for awhile. If and when the Next Generation bomber starts rolling off the assembly lines, its coming here to Minot. Until then, we'll be operating the BUFF. It is a lot like a civilian job, except these are warplanes and they can carry nukes. It's run just about as smoothly as a civilian operation too(enter sarcasm here).
I really like it when they thank us for coming in every day. Like we have a choice.0 -

My mobility bag, you'll hate me for this but, I don't even know what's suppose to be in it. Along with most of my shop.0 -
We only work 12's. 4:15-4:15. You get used to it after a while. 0 -

Must be nice. Mine were never unpacked. We were gone, somewhere, 6-9 months a year.
Speaking of MO bags. We had several "Mobility Excercises" every year. Don't know why, with our ops tempo. Alot of people used to just fill there bag with newspaper and lie a BDU shirt across the top to make the "bag drag" easier. So, here we are having a mobility exercise one year, in the middle of August. Go through the bag drag, palletize baggage and standby for transport to the C-130 waiting on the ramp. No problem, we've done this before on a couple of ocassions. Load rapid deployment pallets, baggage pallets, load personnel. Then the engines start, no biggie, we've taxied before and unloaded everything. We stop at EOR, engines power up, and holy poop, next thing you know we've got weight off wheels!!![:0]
WTH?? Still no biggie, several years prior a squadron did this same thing and circled for an hour and landed. We're not banking a whole lot, one hour goes by, two hours, WTH??. Finally we land....at Castle AFB in Kalifornia[?] [?] Three days of camping in the hot summer sun. Over half of the people did not have anything in thier bags, only 9 or 10 had met the checklist requirements. We camped on the far side of the runway and supervision wouldn't let anyone walk to main base to the BX.[}:)] Talk about a lot of stanky people!![xx(] And a lesson learned. [;)]0 -

been doing 8-8 6 days a week for 10 yrs now at the tire store,seems like a way of life to me 0
