Big test at the hospital tomorrow.
Have to go to the city (a 2hour drive) for a nuclar stress test tomorrow so the doctors can see if they can figure out why they cann't get my blood pressure down. Have a bad knee and leg so cann't do a normal stress test, so they are doing something they call a nuclar stress test. Moniter your heart for awhile, then inject some type of radiation and watch where it goes for awhile, the moniter the heart again. Thats what I figure is going to happen from what the info they sent says. No medication and no caffine for 24 hours prior. But I can eat a light breakfast. [:0] [?]

Good luck. 0 -
Thallium is what they inject, it shows up on an X-ray. Good luck. 0 -
Just be prepared to get a really strange feeling when they shoot the "stuff!" I had one about a year ago. Got up feeling like I had run a marathon, and hadn't left the table! We'll be thinking about you. Good luck! 0 -
I've had 3 or 4 Thalium Stress tests, and never had a complaint with them.
I really worry about dieing while doing a regular stress test.

Passed the test with an A+ today. [:p] Wired me up, stuck an IV needle in my arm, and then took pics - I believe it was an MRI of my heart, then shot me full of Thalium. Told me I could have all sorts of different reactions to the Thalium. Didn't feel any different than I did when I walked in the front door. Doc kept asking me if I felt any symptons and seemed surprised that I didn't have any of them. Then after waiting for a few minutes had another MRI to compare to the first one. Doctor said everything looked normal. Now all I have to do is see what my doctor is going to try for a different medication to try getting blood pressure down. 0 -
Glad to hear everything went OK for you 41. When I had my test done I was sick as a dog for the next 12 hours. Not a good thing when you have to be on the firing line at 0600 the next day. 0 -
If you ask for a double dose you can see your nards glowing in the dark, the ladies love that trick! [:D] 0
