Unattended House

I've got a friend who has a house that will be vacant for a significant portion of the year, and I'd like to keep an eye on things. I have cable internet (5 mbs) at the house, but no computer that is permanently kept there. Can someone recommend a good solution for keeping a camera there? Should he look into a server (and connect to it remotely), or a camera with a built-in web server?

  They have cameras now that can be viewed from any computor anywhere in the world.
  I been looking into getting one for my chicken house, but I just went to Frys Electronics to see what they had.

  Interesting - I know about the streaming video cams - let me know what you found out.
  I doubt it'd be hard to find an old CPU for $50 to serve as a server.
