who here has a suicide gun?

one that done the deed!!!

I have one, i look at it in an odd way. im not sure what to think about it.

I just look at it and wonder......

what the hell were you thinking?????

not my style, but i like the gun[^]

this is a poofer.....


i still got mine.

    Its no different than any other gun. Guns are just a bunch of machined parts assembled in such a way as to fire bullets.

    They dont have a soul or mind or personality and cannot function on their own... just because some desperate soul decided to use it to punch his own ticket does'nt make it special in my book.

    it was given to me by a family member of the person. Not from my family.
    I dont have any resevations, it is what it is, and it was what it was.

    This is alittle off topic but a guy two doors down the street from me committed suicide about ten years ago. they found him in a closet, zipped inside a sleeping bag, with what was left of a motorcycle helmet on his head, he used a shotgun. He was renting a room from a young couple who had just moved in. The couple NEVER, went back in the house... they ended up selling, took over a year.

    I've always wondered how many people died at the other end of some of the guns that I've got. It would be amazing to know some of the history behind them. Unfortunately, much of it will never be known. I do have a Model 1860 Spencer that I can identify down to tge Soldier that carried it, and what campaigns he was involved in. His name was Franklin Tiffany, and was in Company M of the 11th Michigan Cavalry. He went in in December 1863, and deserted in March 1865, taking the Spencer with him.

    Friend has a pre '10 S&W. Given to him by a detective buddy when he retired. He had it in his desk drawer for greater than 25 years. Action is smooth as butter. Very badly pitted from the residual brain tissue (temple shot). Fine gun, otherwise. Joe

    I have the pistol my pop shot himself with. It's in the display case, but not annotated other than it's a Colt. All suicides are a bit off their rocker, but the guns don't cause that. No need to hold them responsible.

    I had one. A Colt 1908 .25ACP. Bought it from a dealer at a gun show in a small town about twenty miles from where I live. Still in the Ziploc bag. A doctor had used it to get rid of his troubles. Was covered in surface rust from the blood and had brain tissue in the barrell. Kind of was a challenge to see if I could restore it. Colt puts a lot of metal in their products. Was going on vacation so took it with me along with abrasives and worked on it, and put it back in shooting condition without too much trouble. Always thought about that doctor tho. Sold it later and wish I had it back.

    I am sure a lot of us unknowingly own firearms used in suicides.
    It makes no difference to me.
    I have stared at a few Wartime Walther PPKs and wondered how many people were executed with them.
    Wartime firearms conjure up more thoughts then wondering if s gun was used for suicide.

    I have a .357 Blackhawk that an uncle killed himself with. This one is in perfect shape so it either didn't get messy or my dad got it cleaned right away. This was over 30rys ago.

    I have got some WW2 guns that while not suicide guns very well could have been USED to take lives.

    I've refinished a few.

    The key is to get them before the pitting starts.

    Since blood has so much iron in it, the pitting is worse than regular water, sweat, moisture...It's more like a cavity in a tooth.

    Looks superficial until you blast the metal clean, then the pits show up deep.

    What about guns that have killed people? Does that bother any of you guys? My grandad had one his uncle gave him that he brought back from WWII a mauser Sniper rifle it was damaged lense was broke on the scope there was a good story behind it if any of you want to hear let me know ill tell you later well anyhow we know it killed people due to the story and the fact there were 18 hash marks on the stock and a carved german word above it.

    My brother has a 45 that was used in a suicide. Few specks of rust on it from the blood spatter but otherwise a nice gun.

    My Bro. has am "M98" that no-doubt put many a US soldier down. Until my Uncle Floyd killed him, and took it.Hr brought it home ,and had it "sporterised" and hunted with it for many years. It killed many, many bucks back here in the US. No paper work with it, but it has all the Nazi symbols, and all matching SN parts.

    With the widow's permission I tried to get a Colt Python from the police that my girlfriend's father had shot himself with. They made up some BS about not releasing the gun unless the family could prove that he owned it.

    Once I mentioned to my sister that I had bought a Detroit Police model 10 S&W. She said, "What if it was used to kill someone?"

    Bought a Win. M64 from a coworker a long time ago. Three days later, he drove his car into a river (left a suicide note). Glad he didn't use the rifle on himself.

    a relative of my grandfather hung himself in the barn. we did not tear down the barn.

    I work with a lady who's husband shot and killed himself with a Smith Model 31. She still owns it.
