1895 Guide Gun Question
A group of us from my unit hunt hog regularly down here in Texas. A Captain and I both use Marlin 1895G 45-70s and he has been talking about putting an XS Lever Rail on his for mounting a Red Dot.
Has any of you ever put a Red Dot on a 45-70? I was thinking there may not be many that would hold up to the recoil.
Thoughts? Feedback?

Any of the top quality red dots will work just fine and the recoil will not bother them. I am not talking about the cheep units that you'll find on sale for $20 at wal-mart, look for the better units such as the Bushnell Holosight or any of the aimpoints. 0 -
