Friend killed in car crash
Well Sunday one of my friends died in a car crash. He was about a month younger than me at the age of seventeen. This is way too young and it scares the crap out of me. It was a really big reality check for everyone in my area. I sat through driver's ed right next to this kid for two months in driver's ed. I'm not sure yet if alcohol was involved or not. Thoughts and prayers for the family.

Sorry for your loss and nice to see you posting again, wish it was under different circumstances, though.
From the comments posted by the readers of your paper, it appears that the road he was on is really dangerous...lots of fatalities.
Also, alcohol was not a factor, at least per this reader's comments:

Well the report is in and drugs OR alcohol were NOT a factor. Not that it even would matter, He's DEAD. GONE. And even if he was hammered, it wouldnt make a difference. But he wasnt. Shaun was there for EVERY person that needed him. He would listen to me for HOURS on end. He always had time for everyone. It was never Shaun first, it was always someone else. He cared so much for his family, he'd always say good things about them. I dont know how to even react to this.0 -
My Deepest sympaties to You, his Family and everyone who knew him, as a father who lost his son in a car crash 2 1/2 years ago, I must ask you this,frankcastle13, please do not forget about his parents, they will need you, as his friend, for a long time to come, the words will come slowly, many tears will be shed, but just being there sharing, caring, can and will make all the difference in the world, they have a long, hard road to hoe, and you can help make it a little smoother...Steve 0 -

you never get used to it, i was about your age i had a friend that got murdered, stabbed in the chest three times, then decapitated and dumped in a lake, i also knew the guy who did it, and the knife used was a schrade old timer i once sold him, no one would have ever guessed he was capable of it, they where best friends
i've lost several to car accidents, 2 to carbon monoxide poisoning by coming home drunk, and passing out in the garage with the car running, and a few from suicide, a few others from murder, like i said you never get used to it0 -
Thank you for all of your responses, they are appreciated. 0 -

I lost three in one accident in HS - and I was supposed to be with them - on the "Old Road" to Ensenada, Baja. That has always remained with me, as 'all lies aren't bad.'
Saved me life that day.0
