Yep, and it is beyond the planning stages...google the "North American Union".

Also the "Security and Prosperity Partnership".

Depending on the influence of the media, schools, high gasoline prices, immigrants and anti-immigrants, loss of national unity, national lassitude, boredom, overfeeding, demoralisation, and demotivation, mass "can't pay won't pay tax" movement towards the IRS, a weak president or government, loss of fear of government and police authority, perceived gross government competence or indifference after a national disaster eg hurricane or Hoover Dam collapse, sudden decapitation of most of the leadership as might have happened on 911, the rise of a non-violent mass anarchist libertarian movement etc, what else would it take for the United States of America, to become irreversibly dissunited, not necessarily cessionist, nor on racial lines, nor with violence as in the Civil War, but to simply cease to exist, almost overnight, as other empires and civilisations have done?

You missed the astonishing rise of the welfare state. Welfare, not defense or highways or public universities or hospitals, is the hugest item in the federal budget by far. A tremendous number of people expect the federal government to put a roof over their heads, food on their tables, and clothes on their backs. People no longer plan ahead, prepare for the worst, save, and expect to be independent. That's a far worse calamity than anything else you've listed.

Looks like the giveaway of our country is past the hidden planning stage
and upon us without our wishes. Realy cant figure why though except from our greedy leaders and what they will recieve for it. So, we will go down to a third world country, but THEY will have teir ways with us
no matter what. No vote, nothing, but we must obey their rules or else.
Kind of reminds me of back in the 30's when Hitler took over the reigns
and with a few "true believers" changed all of Germany and Austria to
HIS way of thinking. That is where we are as of now. Never mind what the majority think, just obey what I say and do it. "I know what is best for you and will enforce my decision" is the new "battle cry. Dont even think about a vote as we few know better than you". Goodby USA.

Couldn't get anybody to listen 20 years ago...when there was a chance yet to head off what is coming.
Today...gather what is needed to survive, learn the skills necessary, and drop out of the system as far as is practical...and STOP VOTING FOR GARBAGE !!
Stop begging your politicians for relief from tyranny...and the pace will speed up to the point where YOU will have a chance to right the wrongs you have been committing for 50 years....supporting corruption because it is "Better then the other guy"..yet you still lent your support to rotten corruption...

Twenty years ago everyone was kept happy with $1 per gallon gasoline, lots of saber rattling and a big increase in the military budget (which everyone here loves) along with plenty of foreign intervention (another GB favorite) as well as providing "friends" like Saddam with weapons and arming radical freedom fighting muslims...With no need to ever get back those weapons! The Gipper was telling everyone just what they wanted to hear (between his naps) and handing out big tax breaks (and ignoring the balloning national debt) while opening trade with China which gave us all those wonderful cheap consumer items like cheap TVs and VCRs and also gave the PRC $1 trillion in foreign trade credits which we will have to make good on some day. During this period the Jesus freaks and pro life folks were pacified and even gun owners felt that they had regained lost rights, although at the the expence of those nasty machineguns which no one owned any way. We were all being spoon fed just what we wanted to hear so it is no surprise no one was listening to those who saw the danger of the direction we were headed.

    Yes, indeed.
Actually,1968 was the year the government propaganda scabs were jerked off MY eyes...the realization that no free country NEEDED government intervention into the area of small arms control...and could not survive for long AS a free country WITH that control..and indeed it has come to pass.

Once one learns to recognize the maggots crawling out of the mouths of
public officials, passing themselves off as "Words from the most high"...the world is never the same again

Yes it does, but not with the voice of perpetual fear, and doom and gloom for the nation.

We're far, far better than that, despite what the warriors of defeatism expound.

Yeah, if global warming, the Janta virus, West Nile virus, chinese pig/bird flu, AIDS, global cooling, nuclear winter, flouridated water, bad acid trips, or any of the other great scares of the last 30 or 40 years don't get us, then NAFTA, the North American Union, UN black helicopters and whatever else you M 0 0 N B A T S cook up next surely will.

Loosen the tinfoil hats, peel away the curtains, turn off Art Bell and get outside. The oxygen might do your brains (I use the term loosely) good.[:D][}:)][;)][}:)][:p]

Yep - and we'll be deported back to Europe, Asia, Africa, just as soon as the
Mexican birth rate explodes fast enough to sweep us away.
