WWII arms caches in Iraq
I just read an article on Military.com some US troops are finding caches of weapons from WWII, British, American, and Nazi most of which are found to have been cached in motor oil and cosmoline, perfectly operational. The article states that ultimately these much desired collectibles wiil turned over to Iraqi authorities. I don't know about you but my husband and I would both just love to look over this arsenel. Anyone have any connections out there?!

I saw a German 88mm cannon being trucked out of Iraq, along with a butt-load of modified Sherman tanks. They had an M-48 STYLE turret on the regular M4 Sherman chassis. 0 -
And I imagine the Iraqi government will either leave them sitting in oil or junk them. I suppose, given the influx of Mosins and such, that if the cache is large enough, we might- MIGHT see them imported, but I doubt it. 0 -
To a modern arms starved country, all that WWII stuff is just scrap.
Too bad, I'll bet it goes the way of all scrap![:(]
