Get Smart Younger Guys!
New film coming out! Looks to be a very funny comedy - the casting is great! All of
old geezers will have no problem IDing the 'blast from the past!'
Here's a quick run down.
Get Smart:
In the all-new action comedy "Get Smart," Maxwell Smart (Steve Carell) is on a mission to thwart the latest plot for world domination by the evil crime syndicate known as KAOS.
When the headquarters of U.S. spy agency Control is attacked and the identities of its agents compromised, the Chief (Alan Arkin) has no choice but to promote his ever-eager analyst Maxwell Smart, who has always dreamt of working in the field alongside stalwart superstar Agent 23 (Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson). Smart is partnered instead with the only other agent whose identity has not been compromised: the lovely-but-lethal veteran Agent 99 (Anne Hathaway).
As Smart and 99 get closer to unraveling KAOS' master plan-and each other-they discover that key KAOS operative Siegfried (Terence Stamp) and his sidekick Shtarker (Kenneth Davitian) are scheming to cash in with their network of terror. Given little field experience and even less time, Smart-armed with nothing but a few spy-tech gadgets and his unbridled enthusiasm-must defeat KAOS if he is to save the day.
This'll bring back some memories, eh, geezers?

Unfortunately, I don't find Steve Carell all that funny. He was good in Bruce Almighty, but aside from that, he doesn't make me smile.
But, I enjoyed the old show. I might see it for seeing its sake.0 -
Ahh yes, ol 99.[:)][:)][:)] 0 -
I think Steve Carell is perfect for that part. I think he's very funny. His show "the office" is very good. 0 -
CAn't they come up with some new ideas in Hollywierd instead of ripping off old TV shows.....[}:)] 0 -
with all the animatronics and computerized special effects I'd like to see them do a remake of Jonny Quest, that was a cartoon way ahead of it's time.
Like what they've done with the show Angelina Jolie was in, oh yeah Laura Croft tomb raider girl. Never saw anything but the film, so I don't know if it was accurate0 -
what, they didn't transgender any characters?
I thoought that was the only way they knew how to make remakes these days [:D]0 -
Yep there goes another old classic ruined.[:(!][V] 0 -

It's the swan song for those who enjoyed those series/shows - once the geezers my age
are gone - then the interest in those things once held precious will be locked away in film vaults forever - just as most of the silent films and early kinescopes are today. Dead memories/dead audience.
Progress paves all over with new.
