I bought a sporterized one a little over a year back,it was cheap and pretty and thought it would make an extra deer rifle if I needed one,,,1st trip to the range my teenage son claimed it,,it likes heavy bullits,,with 180gr soft points it will tear the bullseye out of a target at 200yrds,,he dropped several deer with it last season,,the only thing was he had to get used to it cocking while closing the bolt instead of cocking upon opening like most modern rifles,,I offered to have it changed for him but he wanted to leave it.

Greetings tccox and congrads on your Eddystone. I have a "Eddystone" in the gun locker along with 2 other specimens of the "1917 Enfield". (the other two are winchesters)
However, my Eddystone is stil in an incomplete project status. I aquired it about a year ago and someone had ground off the ears, and fitted a beautiful "tiger maple" stock but, the recoil pad and fore-end tip has not been put on. The bore is very good, so it should make a fine shooter. now its just a matter of getting a "Round-2-It" so I can get a finished product.

I would love to have the Eddystone LF has on the block but you've already bid it up past my budget!

Very good! I almost bought one last year - toss up between that and a Sharps.
