I spoke of a 50 yd. 17HMR fly shot. Not as uncommon as you
may believe.

... actually there are .22LR, 17HMR and .17HM2 (Rimfire)
(organized) 'fly shoots' around the country.

I'm surprised you haven't heard of them before.

... we used to shoot tarantula wasps out of the air - hitting moving
targets were a might harder - with .22LRs and .22 WRFs.

... we didn't know it was hard/impossible.

... ammo was cheap.
