Had lunch with a guy today who played guitar ...
with The Doors, Jimi Hendrix and later Neil Diamond. We
didn't actually know that going into the lunch/conversation
... it just kinda came up when he talked about 'his early years
in the music scene!'
... coulda blown me (us) over with a feather - and he was an
interesting guy to talk to, too!

Did he play with Esteban?0 -
you sure are gullible.[;)]

LOL ... no Ben, the guy's name is John Bailey - checked him out
when I got home. He indeed DID! My 'music guy' up in WA knows
him - Ryan's also a guitar guy from the early 70's - owns a big
sound studio in Seattle now - good enough verification for me![8D]0 -
Richie Rich (Schultz) from ? and The Mysterians (96 Tears) is the sound tech on our CD which we are in the proccess of recording.
Oh one more... Danny Van, famous Elvis impersonator, if there is such a thing, goes to my church.0 -

Interesting. What kind of music is it?
I'm learning about/setting up distribution webs in Europe and
Asia at the moment. I'm finding out that distribution is some-
times as important (even more important - if you can believe
that!) than the product, talent, etc. I've found an old HS chum
in Bangkok who is exceptionally well connected with the Asian
market, including everywhere from Bollywood to China, Korea,
Japan, etc. American music is being snatched up in many of
those markets - regardless of the fame of the artists. Send
me an e-mail if you are interested. I'll put you in touch with my
friend Tommy if you would like - and see what he has to say.

Doing a Southern Gospel project. Sort of in the Gaither tradition. It's a 50's-60's style Gospel. Our singer/song writter is from Georgia, it's the type of music that he grew up with.
There is a very limited market for this type of music compared to Contemporary Christian. We will give away most of the discs, some will sell at $3.00 or $4.00 to help cover some costs.0 -
OK ... sounds interesting.
One of the stops I'm making next week is to 'scope out' a group
that is quite good in Blue Grass Gospel (Christian) and to look
at some other groups Shipshewana, IN. It's a pretty interesting
musical subculture. Be interested in seeing how your sales go.

I have lunch with my brother in law at least once a week,
he was/is the bass player with a group from the
Bay Area called the Count 5.
They were one hit wonders (according to the rock and roll
hall of fame) "Psychotic Raction" released in 1966.
He's in his mid-fifties now, still jamming on his guitar![8D]0 -
