Afghan Police Trainee
(Richland County) - An Afghan police trainee working in Columbia has been arrested on charges he assaulted and groped a hotel employee Tuesday.
Mohammed Arif Nabel, 42, has been arrested and charged with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature and kidnapping.
Richland County deputies say Tuesday morning, Nabel invited a woman into his hotel room at the Hampton Inn on Barbera Drive because he wanted shampoo. Deputies say Nabel threw her on the bed, and groped her.
Deputies say the woman was able to get away from the man. She then called the authorities.
Investigators say Nabel has also been implicated in another incident at the same motel last week.
Nabel, who's from Kabul, Afghanistan, was scheduled to leave the United States this Friday. He's here as part of a group learing U.S. crime fighting tactics. He's a lieutenant colonel in the Afghan University Police Academy.

Yeah - things are tough all over - just heard that the two young lads up north have had their felony charges dropped - so they won't be spending any hard prison time and now won't have to register as sex offenders ... for the rest of their lives up there in McMinnville!
.... their crime was to slap some girls on the butt.
I thought they were gonna be lynched for sure!
