CATHEDRAL CITY, Calif. -- An investigation into a Cathedral City police officer who police said took off his clothes and jumped into a pool with two women while answering a noise complaint call has resulted in charges filed against the officer, said Riverside District Attorney Rod Pacheco.
John Fox Jr., 37, faces multiple felony and misdemeanor charges, including assault under the color of authority.
The alleged incident happened at 2 a.m. on Sept. 29 when a homeowner claimed Fox knocked on his door responding to a neighbor's complaint about noise. He told News Channel 3 the officer proceeded to the back yard where the officer took off his uniform and jumped into the pool with his two female friends.
The women claim the officer started touching them before the homeowner called 911. That's when, they said, Fox got out of the pool, put his clothes back on and left.
The Cathedral City Police said this is a stain on the department, and it will take some time to cleanup.
When asked if Fox has explained what he was thinking the night of the incident, Lt. Chuck Robinson with the Cathedral City Police Department said, "I don't know what he has or hasn't said to the district attorney's office regarding this case or if he's even made a statement."
Robinson said he can't comment on personnel matters or disclose if Fox has any prior cases of misconduct.
Fox has been placed on paid administrative leave, pending the completion of an internal investigation.
"Police officers are a public trust," Robinson said. "The community has an expectation of how you're going to behave and how you're going to conduct yourself, and when you do something to besmirch the image of the police officer and the uniform itself it's disheartening.
"You work so hard to build that trust up with the community," said Robinson. "When something like this happens, you just know that you let your community down."
Fox has not been arrested, but he is scheduled to appear in court on Monday morning in Indio for arraignment.
If required to go to jail, his bail will be set at $50,000, according to the district attorney's office.

How do those in Iraq view thae tactics of the last few months? Are thing improving? Is there a notcable change in tactics with the "surge" and are things getting better for the troops and Iraqis?
I know what Warshington says. I know what FOX and CNN say, but I don't know what any actual men in Iraq think. If you've heard the views and general opinions of those in Iraq, I would apprieciate your interpretation.0 -

Congratulations on your upcoming retirement. When my Granddad retired, they gave him his service revolver, handcuffs and Badge in a shadow box as a retirement gift. When my Uncle retired, they gave him his service revolver. Will they give you your service weapon or just a watch? Don 0 -
Hi Nunn: Sorry about all the commotion. Let me explain my position. You deleted my posts, leaving Clouder's, then said I used gutter language. I don't know who said what, but I never used anything remotely obscene. The term "shut down" was used because I was following your request to stop. You're the Marshall, the Boss, the Honcho, the Judge, here, and when you say stop, I do. When you said to go to neutral corners and wait for the bell, I did so and returned to the game. I follow the rules, so just tell me. Do you want me to leave Clouder alone or not? Just say the word and I'll fight or quit. Your choice. I'm sorry you won't judge our little challenge (as if Whiteclouder would ever face me alone, ha ha ha). I don't trust the others, as the board is rather tilted in Clouder's favor. Too bad, I promise you it would have been interesting.
The dust settled slowly in the street, as the crowd drifted away, like windswept smoke that lingers a moment, then disappears forever. Guns had blazed, bullets had sought their mark and a man was dying. Gasping, struggling for a last breath, he sought the eyes of his opponent and asked, "Why?" Like the angel of death, the triumphant gunman hovered over his vanquished foe. He bent over the corpse
and whispered into a dead ear, "Because I HATE the ant and elephant story. That's why." Then thunderbolt strode away.0 -

If you were breaking up a fight between two males and you happened to get grazed on your cheek, not hurt, but grazed, would you file an additional charge against whoever did it? Would you charge them with assault on a Police Officer? Or would you let it go? It wasnt intentional BTW. 0 -
C'mon man, are the drugs messin' ya up that bad?!?!?[:D][;)] Read my last line of my post, I am planning on leaving positive feedback, that is assuming the 3 guns are all to my liking. Nunn,
I wanted to publicly commend you for posting all those items for the widow lady. I'm about to list five handguns for sale and I know how long it takes to photo, sort, upload and describe just five items-
you spent several hours of your time. You're a good guy.
