I had to get a new drivers license.

I finally got to the big city and bought a mailbox and got it up the other day.

Now is the fun part of changing all my mail over. (I have been getting mail at my parents address.) I spent over two hours online just going to financial sites and changing over my address.



Maine has it set up to get a new license online for just $5. Real easy, changed my address and will have a new one sent.

Any other states do this?

    don't forget to get a change of address with the post office

    I talked the postmaster before putting up the box to get the right distance and height.

    If I forget to change any address over, the mail will still go to my parents PO BOX and then I get it from them. Then I can contact the company to change the address.




    The main reason I changed my license over was that it had a PO BOX address on the license and some stores would not accept it for a firearm purchase (Wal-Mart specifically) so I had to carry around a notarized proof of physical address paper.

    NY State: Registration renewal on line. It's been 21/2 weeks so far, and no new reg. in the mail yet.

    Rugergunz Question: does Maine require a photo on the license? How do you get around that? Joe

    Yes, Maine requires a photo on the license.

    When I got a new license a few years back, they take your pic like normal and give you a license that day. But they take the pic with a digital camera, I presume, and that stays on file with your license info. Then when you need a replacement or change of address they just use the same photo until the next time you need to renew the license.

    Yep,.....Florida does the same thing.
    All info stored digitally.

    We spend $25 dollars - they send us a five year license ... no muss, no
    fuss ..... unless you've had lots of tickets and/or accidents. Then you
    have to come in and take a paper test/eye exam.[8D]
