    Wow! Thanks!

My dad grew up in the shantytown down by the stockyards - worked in the slaughter houses - was a semi-pro fighter in the mid/late 30's. He also held down a job at the KC Star as an asst. elevator repairman and was an engineering student. Enlisted on Dec. 8, 1941/Army, like his dad (Rainbow Div./WWI). He was quite a guy.

Anyway, when I was a kid, he took me to the War Memorial - was that museum there in the 50's/60's?

Now that I see your pics, I want to go back and see it as a (well seasoned) adult[:D]

    Thanks! A1+ photos!

I don't know when it was built. wild guess, anywhere from the 40's to the 60's.

hhmm... 30's in kansas city... about that time, I had a cousin there that was a bodyguard for "the mob", he was deaf from the shelling in WWI so he couldn't hear what they were talking about.

I think I've driven past that place several times and never thought about it.

    THanks, Busch.
