What is it about sex....
that makes a person throw away a career, wife and kids????
The following C&P is not a LEO bash. This police officer is/was a co-worker of mine whom I've known for 19+ years. He is a good person and is/was a good police officer. I feel bad for him, his wife and young kids. Not mentioned in the article is that Off. Davis was a K-9 officer...hence the "SUV".
Sex is awesome but has caused the downfall of many.
Look at Clinton...his legacy will be all about Monica and his philandering.
Who here does not know of someone who lost it all for sex?

Officer arrested for solicitation of prostitution
News that a Coral Gables police officer was arrested after allegedly soliciting a woman for prostitution over the weekend was met with the expected shock and embarrassment by city officials this week.
On, June 10 at around 9 a.m., while on duty Officer Alan Davis allegedly drove his marked Gables police SUV to pick up a woman who he spoken with previously from Coconut Grove to a warehouse near the Village of Merrick Park in order to have sex with her.
According to police reports, once inside the warehouse Davis, 43, asked the woman how much it would cost to have sex and then handed over $40. Davis then began removing his clothes, including his gun belt, and offered to help the woman take her clothes off.
What Davis did not know was that the woman had been working with Gables and City of Miami undercover police officers and was wearing a wire to tape record the incident.
In fact, police say that Davis has been under investigation for at least a month, after they had received another allegation from a woman that the officer had solicited her for sex.
Davis allegedly first came in contact with the latest woman on June 7.
After Davis allegedly gave the woman the money and began undressing, police then converged on the scene and arrested Davis at 4107 Laguna Street in the Gables.
He was charged with solicitation for prostitution and transporting for the purpose of prostitution. Davis bonded out of jail the same day.
After his arrest, Davis, who is married and has a family, was suspended from the city police department without pay.
"Right now we are on hold," said Gables Police Chief Michael Hammerschmidt, regarding Davis' future with the city. "We are not doing anything further until this goes through the courts,"
Although the chief said there will be a subsequent Internal Affairs investigation he said that Davis could not be compelled to give any statement since his case is now in the hands of the State Attorney.
Hammerschmidt likened the situation to a family dealing with a family member getting in trouble.
"The police department works like a family. Because of the type of work we do we rely on each other like family. When a family member gets in trouble we go through all the same feelings that anybody would - shock, dismay, disappointment and anger to a certain extent. That's just natural feelings," he said.
The chief admitted that the arrest of one of his own department's officer was considerable cause for embarrassment and was a blemish and stain to the organization but said that those feelings have already been tempered by support from city officials and the community.
"The amount of emails I've received and phone calls supporting the department lets us understand that the arrest does not take away from the job we do as a department," he said.
Mayor Don Slesnick said the incident was a double tragedy - for the officer and the department.
"Anything that happens of this order makes and impact on how the public views the police department - makes them wonder what is happening with some officers," Slesnick said. "It is definitely a public perception setback for the city and department."
The mayor said the incident was even more troubling for Davis whom he felt sorry for, whether he was convicted of the crime or not.
"Everything I've read says that he has had a long (21 year) and very good career and has served the people well. It's a personal tragedy to have put himself in that position," the mayor said.

In situations like this, I don't think it's about the sex....its about doing something "bad"
Look at Hugh Grant......the guy was knocking the bottom out of Elizabeth Hurley and gets caught with a not-so-attractive prostitute.
For whatever reason, nailing Ms. Hurley wasn't exciting enought for him (retard!) so he got off on doing hookers0 -
We're still evolving. Air, food (water), then sex, are our primary drives.
Nature wants us to make as many different conbinations as possible to ensure that the best possible DNA sequence is attained.0 -

Mostly a case of listening to the wrong head, but we've been doing it for all of recorded history and almost certainly for all of human prehistory as well. Not too many men are rational creatures when it comes to sex. 0 -
I'd just like to add that I think Hammerschmidt may be the coolest name for a police chief yet. 0 -

Quotes from senior officers and supervisors, from when I was a not-so-senior officer.
"That badge will get the _ _ _ _ _ , and the _ _ _ _ _ will get the badge."
"There's been many a good officer who dug his own grave with his
_ _ _ _."

Actually, it is way more common for an officer to wreck his personal life, not his professional life, though the latter does happen.0 -
and you wonder why i discourage ANY FORM of smut or soft porn on gb. women were meant to be loved and cared for, not advertised and displayed like property.[xx(]
a womans beauty was meant to attract.
the man was designed to see it.
if either person cant control that GOD GIVEN GIFT, they are out of self control, putting them both in danger of being abused or trapped.
THATS how it happens. no rocket scientist needed to explain that one.
one man, one woman, one lifetime.[^]0 -
Yeah, but I think alot of married women bear alot of the responsibility for their husbands straying. What's the old joke? The best tool for sexual abstinece is a wedding band.
Too many women use sex as a tool to get a husband. Then renig on the bargin. It's a dang good bet the officer was after what he couldn't get AT HOME.0 -

When it comes to sex ... some men seem to be very basic.
[:D]0 -
Ive read some on the topic and apparentley some men get a sense of control by using prostitutes, I dont figure how they figure its worth it. There are to many clean women out there than to have to pay a hooker for a VD. 0 -
I've never been w/a prostitue mind you. Even when I was OTR tucking I made it a point to stear clear of the Nevada brothels that have clean girls and advertise "free showers and conversation" over the CB radio. Because: A. I'm too damned CHEAP to pay that much for sex. And B. Because I knew I would if I set foot in the door. [:D]
But I think I can understand why some married men use them. Basically they get what they want (and pay for). Instead of uninspired, no frills straight let's get it over with sex that many wives dish out. You can call it "control". But I'd say satisfaction is closer to the truthfull reason.0 -
I would never think of doing that to my wife and kids. If someone does want extra sex on the side though, why the h#ll would you pick a dirty fatlady? I just don't understand it. 0 -
I think that for some men sex is a vice. Like it is for Drugs or Alcohol. It is a weakness or an addiction. I know I fight it as well. 0 -
I was a Police Officer for over 10 years until a bad eye injury tool me out of the game. I saw a few Officers fall to this temptation, ( if I was a little thinner and prettier.... it may have been me!).
Then and now I have wondered why this is illegal? Now I know there are girls and boys that are being used against thier wills, but there are other laws for this. I mean the law that says two adults can not trade money for sex! Is this so differant from takeing a lady out on the town, dinner, drinks, clothes, whatever, and then back to her/ or your place for the night...... and then never calling her again?
If this is illegal then why are we not putting Chiropractors and Psychologists away?

It's called Morality. According to Christian morals, and those of I think most religions, mankind is supposed to have only 1 sex partner in thier life. (maybe more if your's dies).
It's pretty much the same arguement against Gay marriage. I don't care if Gays live together and have civil unions w/the same benefits of "marriage". But they want to attack and minimize the Christian aspect of marriage.
If not for the Bible we all might have a little more fun. But if you believe the Bible is the word of God, then you're bound to follow it's teachings.0 -
oden -
I looked at your profile, and you seem to be a man named "Paul"
Why, exactly, would you want to be "thinner and prettier"?
Or did I miss something ??
Doug0 -
some of these people just have something wrong upstairs. But like others have eluded to, is human nature. Males arent built to stay with one mate, look in nature. Males jobs are spread their seed per say, stay with that mate while that offspring grows up, then move on. Females are built to be selective and stay with children. Although a recent study i saw, said that women are just as likely to cheat or have multiple mates as well. People staying together is a human creation. But with that said, there still is right and wrong, and having sex for 10min withsomebody isnt worth throwing away a lifetime 0 -
to add to that, I think its like anything else, your told not to do it, so people do it. Forbidden fruit kind of thing 0 -
Fatstrat, Yes you are correct! YOUR religious belief may be a reason YOU may wish to spend the rest of your life with one women. But this is not about religious freedom. If you go back and read your BIble you may find out that many of the "Fathers" that you believe in, had many wives, and concuebines (sp), and YES......fatladyS!!!!
Now if you are reading from books like Timothy and the like,( ref Gay marrage etc...), then you are reading letters from "Christs Teachers" to churches they are trying to reform, ( and by reform I mean collect money from). This also means your women should not talk in church and should keep her head and face covered at all times.
And yes my name is "Paul" It is a rule on GB that you MUST sign off w/your real name?, Or are you saying because I use my "Username" my words are worthless?
If you were to go back and read my statement, I was saying that because I was fat and ugly i did not attract the ladies like some other Officers did, and maybe did not run into some of the same problems they did.
There are some real good people on this site, but many really need to open thier eyes and thier minds......Its the whole point of a "Discussion"!
