new concept jeep

Kimbercolt
a zero turning jeep. wow
wonder if that will be make it into production.

look at the hrosepower. reminds me of my 76 jeep with a 327.

    Seems Diemler/Chrysler has put a lot of stock in the Jeep line. When I bought my 94, it was a little off-chute of a Dodge dealership. Now they have full-fledged Jeep dealers and the limited (long wheel base) and the four door version. Both are kinda cool, but start to look cookie-cutter to the other little sport/utes. I think they are trying to enlarge the line to cover more of the market. I was happy with "this is the JEEP and take it or leave it".

    It would really be a shame if Gm did end up buying Chrysler and they cut the Dodge pickups and Jeeps.

    I would rather have my balls pounded flat with a wooden mallet than drive a Dodge or Jeep with a sissy GM engine and suspension.

    They showed this at the 2005 Detroit Auto show. Bits and pieces of it might make it into a production vehicle, but not the whole deal. And if one of the capital venture firms buys Chysler, figure on Jeep getting spun off to another manufacturer and the other bits and pieces sold to the highest bidder. We are probably looking at the end of MOPAR as we know it. But then again, before Chrysler, AMC built Jeeps!

    If GM did purchase Chrysler, they'd be fools to scale down the Jeep line. If they were smart, they'd take the technology and find ways to put them in other GM vehicles.

    Jeep's demise has been predicted a few times in the past. People were saying the same thing when Chrysler took them over. The best thing that ever happened to Jeep was having Chrysler take them over. It took a very dying brand and revitalized it after only a few short years (yes, it took time). When Mercedes took them over, again everyone was saying it would be the worst thing, but Mercedes improved upon Chrysler's product line (very much so) and with that, the Jeep included, and even found a way to make the beast reliable.

    I would have never owned a Jeep in the 1990s. I hated them, and as an insurance adjuster, every time I had a client who had a wrecked Jeep they were practically begging me to total it.

    In 2003, I was so impressed with the turnaround, and with people telling me how much they loved theirs that we picked up a 2004 Liberty when the new model year came out. I'd buy another one in a second.

    My guess is that if GM purchased Chrysler, they'd have someone smart come up and say, "Let's get rid of our garbage and let's get rid of their garbage. We'll keep what's good in our product line and we'll keep what's good in theirs."

    Then they'd be ignored. [;)]

    Just remember that J is often pronounced with the H sound.

    It will never happen. A four wheel steer vehicle turns and feel so drastically different then a 2 wheel steer vehicle that there would be accidents.

    We just bought one of the new Jeep compass with the new european technology and love it.

    I saw that jeep at the New York auto show 2 years ago. they had an indoor dirt track. It would sit and spin in a circle.
