Did I miss something??? maybe I am just not thinking right...but who ever asked the question about DNR and starving,I didnt understand.

Because In the entire discussion I didnt see anything wrong.JUST someone who had a question and there is no such thing as a dumb question..And it really doesnt matter what is going on.
So no apoligies are needed just a thank you for thinking about my family and myself and for all the prayers....

  Prayers will continue Dawnie. I asked the original question and it was whether or not DNR really meant that they could keep food from someone who was capable of surviving otherwise??? In other words, if I had a "Do not resusitate" order, would that allow my caregivers to withhold food from me if I was capable of surviving with it?
  
  Zipper got into the middle of things and tried to start a whole new topic debating about whether or not it was ethical to "starve" someone who was capable of surviving otherwise. I thought his comments were inappropriate in David's thread and told him to start a new topic if he wanted to discuss the matter further.

  ECC- A DNR is not consent to assisted suicide. A DNR means if you have a heart attack or a stroke, and were in need of immediate medical attention to survive. The DNR if on Hand and signed by a M.D. would legally mean that the EMT's would not attempt rescue. I sure hope if you do have a DNR, the physician signing it has done a better job explaining it than that.

  One man's perception is another man's exception. No offense perceived here. It's my experience to note that those who pontificate get a little touchy sometimes. I'll accept that and move on. I have no need for a soapbox or to offend anyone ... nor even to direct someone to butt out of a thread started by someone other than himself. ... really, it ain't nothin to get hung about.[:D]
