Josh is taking Sandy to New York

Josh is taking Sandy to New York for New Years and to visit her friend in Manhatten. I couldn't take her this year, and he is off of work until February 1, so he took her. I'm a little worried because he's driving her, and this isn't the best time of the year for that, so say a prayer they stay safe.

We always fly, he's driving and paying $100 a day to garage his truck after he gets there. I just don't get it. I offered to pay for the plane tickets, but he wanted to drive the new truck.

Kids! Can't do with 'em, can't do without 'em.

    Sounds like a fun trip, I would rather drive than fly this time of year also. Have him throw a couple 50 lb bags of play sand over the rear axle, it will make a big diffrence if he hits any snow, and if he gets in a spot where he needs traction on ice he can just cut open a bag and throw some under the tires.

    fingers crossed. The sand trick is a good one, have done it many times. I also carry a shovel, water and a sleeping back this time of year.

    Josh is single. Jason is the married one. Josh has a 2007 Ford Super Crew 4X4, so he most likely can drive in the snow, but 4X4 doesn't doo a thing for stopping.

    I told him he has precious cargo, so be safe or I'll put a knot on his head.[}:)]

    He loves his mom with all of his heart, so I know he'll watch out for her. I'm just worried that she'll fall since she can't walk well, and it's always shoulder to shoulder at Times Square on New Years. I hope I'm just borrowing worry and all goes well.

    He is the one who would rather play house with his GF than watch Sandy? Please tell me your not paying him (other than expenses) to take this trip.[V]

    That's the one. I'm paying the expenses for the two of them, and he's furnishing the truck. I'm just worried (hopefully for no good reason) that he will not keep a close enough eye on her. We've been to time square several times for New Years, and I'm worried she'll get knocked down and trampled since she can't keep her balence on her right side. I didn't realize how worried I was until after they hit the road. I need to start letting go of my over protectiveness.

    Prayers sent. I heard a joke about a blonde who walked into a New York city bank and got $1000 loan. She left her $ 30,000 car as collateral.Three weeks later she came back to the bank and payed off the loan $1300. When asked why she took out the loan, she said she could not garage her car for two weeks for less the $1400. She had gone on a two and a half week sea cruise.

    100$ a day? it ran me 45$ for the day in San Francisco in union square! And that was the Hyatt regency! If I were you Id call and check price for parking because it sound to me someone is patting the bill.
