How much loaded ammo, or bullets ready to load, do you have in your home? I have about 600 loaded, and 4000 ready to go. But I feel the need for more. Am I sick? [:p][:p][:p]

I also have wondered this. I have heard so many stories over the years, including feds counting brass-in that case though I think alot of reloaders would be up a creek if it was actually enforced.

Yes, there is (to my understanding; which is limited) but it is really not enforced. Now that is unless the government and BATFE has their eye on you and it is one of those things that they can add that you were "stock piling ammo" and were a menice to society. I have one of the federal law books that discuss firearm issues. I will check into it and let you know more on the matter. I can say and it may have changed that I once knew that anybody in possession of 500rd on any given calabire was considered "Stock Piling". If you recall a box of 22LR Walmart was 500 or 525 then it was reduced to 440 per box for the stock piling isses. Well today I was there and they have some Federal 22LR with 550 rds. So it probably has changed. Sorry for my spelling - long day.

thanks for the help, i have about 4 different caliber handguns and keep a total of about 3,000 rounds stored under my bed, which i believe is the safest place,by the way, is it true that if someone is standing right in front of you, pointing a handgun at you,and you stick your finger in the end of the barrel the gun will explode in their face if they pull the trigger?

    Actually, it was Mythbusters.

Now if it were a semi-auto and you pushed hard enough, it could prevent the gun from firing by pushing the slide back just enough to prevent the gun from firing.

On a revolver, you can grab the cylinder and keep it from turning.

    Um...

No this is actually a horrible place to store ammo. If you have a fire in the middle of the night, you're going to be turned into swiss cheese in no time flat.

is there a LAW anywhere that limits the amount of ammo you can have at one time either on your person or at home?

    Not in Arkansas.
Guesstimate is 240,000 rds not counting 22LR and reloading components.
All in a temp and humidity controlled environment.
That is a lot of Ammo, trust me.

Yes, I second that - I wouldn't store it under the bed either.

where the heck did you get this information?

the 440 box is called marketing, same reason why you now buy 4 pounds of sugar for the same price you used to get 5 pounds

this is for the state of Washington, but most are federal regulation

Hehehehe. Yeah, but don't depend on that if the revolver is already cocked before you grab the cylinder because you will get a big surprise [:D]

To the best of my knowledge, that putting your finger in the barrel trick only works on cartoons.

It is truly a sad state of affairs that Americans are reduced to worrying and asking questions about how much ammunition the federal, or state government allows a citizen to own.

The very fact that this is a concern is illustrative of the extent to which our freedoms have been curtailed.

    Can anyone say "Predatory Government"?[V]

It's my understanding that will only work with gun's manufactured by the ACME corporation.

Some of the best ideas can be obtained from two dimensional cartoons.
